Saka should be taken off.

Quality from Jorginho and nicely tucked away by Havertz :22encouragement:

Massive relief!

Very good from Jorginho and Havertz run was a classic CF run in to the gap for the first time finish.

Deserved and needed

Martinelli is a huge part of how this team has been playing. And on he comes! And here comes Trossard.

Brighton are screwed now!

Havertz has been quality. His understanding of space is excellent.

Glad that Enciso has gone off, he had the fire in him and looked dangerous.

Trossard and Martinelli on. Saka and Jesus off. Good changes

Saliba has been class today. So calm and has read the play superbly

If our CB pair have one weakness is the long cross field diagonal.

I hope we don’t try to see out the last 25 minutes sat in our own third. They will commit more forward and over commit so we need to be brave and get our foot on the ball and ensure we maintain control of the game

Tomiyasu on for Zinchenko. Standard Arteta sub now. Another sensible one

Jesus is very hard working. Doesn't give up. Doesn't commit deliberate fouls to win the ball. Comes back regularly to help out the defence. Definitely adds energy to the team.

Nonsense yellow card. He’s only given that to Saliba because he’d issued the first of the game to a Brighton player a minute ago. Can see cards coming out like confetti for the final 15 mins

Love those free kicks Havertz wins, positions his body so well so the defender thinks he can get it but really can’t so it’s always a foul on Havertz

Sensible substitutions to finish the game off. Don't expect any more goals though :42laughter:

Brighton have made us have to play well to win this, but we’ve been a cut above in the game. Just look at the number of chances we’ve had

Brighton have only lost once at home in the league and are 12 unbeaten. We’ve completely destroyed them today

The defense in that low block position a few minutes ago was impressive. Brighton saw no space for anything.

I love the passion and commitment to keeping the clean sheet. Every minute of every game we’re switched on and serious.

Whatever happens this season we are a team who is going to be around at the top for a long time

I think City goes there. So hopefully back to their stellar home defense. The first 10 minutes I thought it was going to be one of those days.

Surprised me how well we controlled the game. What I absolutely loved was Gabriel desperate for a clean sheet. Its obvious him and Saliba take a lot of pride in the defensive record. A given Rayas is. GK's see clean sheet like strikers see goals.

Magnificent. A candidate for player of the year. His attitude is always top class and money can't buy a defender who loves defending and celebrates a block like he did.

3.38xG for us today. Only 0.57 against. Only 2 shots on goal. Since the turn of the year I’d bet that we’re averaging not far off just 1 shot on target against per game. If you’re only conceding 1 shot on goal per game you just are not going to lose matches

I think irrespective of what happens for the rest of the season we’ve got a good argument to have Raya, White, Saliba and Gabriel in the Premier league team of the season.
Van Dijk is the only other I can think of but that would be harsh on one of Gabriel or Saliba.

Richard Keys will have lots to say about that celebration. But who cares about that sour grape :42laughter:

Absolutely loved the way they celebrated that block. 3-0 up and they really wanted that clean sheet. :53big-emoticons:

5 goals and 4 assists in his last 7 for Kai Havertz, lots of journalists owe him and Arteta an apology as he was roundly cited as the worst signing of the transfer window.

If there is most improved player over the season, it has to be Havertz. He's gone from 'Please drop him' to 'Please don't drop him'.

He won't get it unless we win it, but Arteta should get manager of the year. Klopp will get it based on last season to this but they had a great team last season and way underperformed. We are seeing the Liverpool team performing per its talent.

Sky seemingly peddling a notion that Brighton started well and had us under pressure and we had to wrestle control of the game….did they not see the guilt edged chances we created before we got the pen?!
