Mudryk subbed off at half time in Chelsea’s game. Not watching it but seen a few people say he hasn’t displayed much defensive side to his game and left Cucurella exposed a bit

Willian looked an entirely different entity from the lethargic, un-interested, short-timer that we had to put up with. Mudryk...early I know, but if Emile Smith Rowe gets back to where he was I don't see a great loss. Madueke when he came on looked dangerous, and seemed to be a similar type player - for what a third of the Mudryk fee? Must admit it was fun to see Boehly squirming in his seat, watching his squillions of pounds investments struggle to score against the mighty Fulham!

Apparently Mudryk was subbed off due to being a bit ill. A cold.

Just read that Aubameyang is dropped from Chelsea's ECL squad. That's karma for him

Dang - Shame the transfer windows closed then. Sounds like he might have been a good buy.

Yes, it seems he only played two Tests. Still, it's quite impressive that the bloke who scored the goal against Tottenham that put Carlisle top of the league (briefly) in 1974 also played Test cricket against the West Indies in 1976.

Hey, mcq, sent you a pm....

A hypothetical home grown 11. You can only name 17 ‘foreign’ players in your 25 man squad, it pays massively to have the best home grown talent in there. It’s a big reason I think the move for Rice in the summer makes sense.

I'm a dad with a daughter and if Mason Greenwood was accused of doing that I would probably issue loads of angry threats and then remember he's a third of my age and probably quite a lot harder than me.

No surprises with the starting lineup.

Thankfully the chief henchman Godfrey is out so I'm looking forward to a hard but not overdirty game.

Put tall big targets upfront, pump balls into the 6 yard box. Simple enough strategy and I fear it will work.

Not unexpected - the new manager bounce. Hopefully they will burn themselves out and we can pick them off in the latter stages.

What is this *%^@ from the commentator!? Basically “I’m glad the referee is going to referee this differently because Everton have come to be overly physical. Refreshing to see.”

*%^@*** nonsense.

Is shirt pulling no longer a foul in association football? The passing has been really poor. Sluggish all round.

Is there any point in Martinelli being on the pitch?

A little less of the high risk stuff in our own half would be appreciated.

Even if he doesn’t get the ball he’s high and wide stretching the pitch.

They are the better side. We better come out 2nd half with a much improved plan of attack.

Oof. Bit nothingy. Conceding chances, wide players no space. No shots on goal I don’t think. Need some ideas. Game for Trossard in tight spaces as there’s no room to run in behind.

Pretty ordinary first half performance, hopefully we can make our quality count after the break.

Not great.

Everton have doubled up on Saka and Martinelli and taken them out of the game. Teams are increasingly doing this an we need to be quicker with our passing when space does open up.

That should mean there is space in the middle for others but we havn't been able to exploit it.

Calvert-Lewin is a big problem.

Everton chasing everything, doubling up and generally tearing around like crazy men. Doubt they can keep it up - well, I hope that can’t.

Could easily be 2 up.

Maybe bring on Jorginho and Trossard for Xhaka and Martinelli at some point.

If we can't step up our game we are in danger of losing this one.

Everton are playing well, especially after they switched the wingers back. Pressing, good wingers and a CF with plenty of physical presence.

Apart from the brief cameo against Man City Martinelli has not been good for weeks now.

Gabby Jesus would have been perfect today, dropping deep, turning and then running at them.

Clubs seem to have got his main move sussed out. Time for Trossard?

Sure feels that way. But Saka did have one cleared off the line.

Obvious corner there. Everton have walked the line between physicality and going over really well tbf. We in the other hand need some fire here without rousing this crowd.

We have had several sloppy passes today. All out of character. Perhaps it’s the Everton pressure causing it?

Martinelli needs to try to go on the outside and get to the by-line a bit more.
