Btw I’ve always been suspicious about someone who would take a job like that.

I would hope they’d do CRB checks to ensure they don’t give the job to a convicted paedophile. But apart from that it’s a totally unskilled job. All the post holder has to do is be willing to put on a dopey green dinosaur costume, let Junior Gunner members score penalties against him in a fake goal on the side of the pitch at half time, and be an observable prat when the teams go out on the pitch.

What else is there?

Pretty much it.

I’m not sure the job requires someone who can split the atom.

I never got the reason why it’s a dinosaur either. Need to create some outfit somehow that depicts a cannon

Metro reporting we’re signing an 18 year old Swedish forward. Sensible to buy cheap youngsters with potential.

Sorry to say I've never heard of him until today. Don't think he's played a first team game in Sweden yet, so I'll assume it's an academy signing for now. He's a 6ft3 striker who's supposedly got good technique and is really good with his back to the goal.

Always fun to have a swede in the youth system to follow. Most of you probably don't remember Kristoffer Olsson, he was a central midfielder that was here from age 16-19 I think. Only had one league cup appearance for the club, but is now playing in Russia, and is one of the best players in the Swedish national team.

Sky has been saying for some time now that we activated Partey's release clause.

See the rolling banner at the bottom of the page.

Now showing as breaking news..........

In other news, WHU and Jack Wilshere have agreed to cancel his contract by mutual agreement. Assuming it's cause he's struggled with injuries for so long.
All the best to him from now on.

Brings back memories of Seb Larsson for some weird reason.

They are also regurgitating the story about Jack Wilshere being released by West Ham because they have nothing to talk about. Seems gross and tasteless. How much do you need to speak about it

I don’t get the impression that Ceballos is a number 10 type. Partey is box to box. I can’t second guess what Arteta will do but if I was to take a punt I would say Partey would probably be a replacement for Xhaka or ceballos in the side and we would probably keep the same formation this season

All the best to him from now on.

He says he has been fit for months but isn't getting a chance. Hard to believe that he is only 28. He is younger than DeBruyne. It's a shame the injuries were so damaging.

Reports that Walcott is returning to Southampton. It’s gone 10.00 pm so the transfer window closes in less than an hour. If the Partey signing is finalised, wonder if Arsenal are employing their official website news staff to confirm it tonight? They should do considering the size of the worldwide fan base.

Or perhaps it’s not happening and Top Gun has wasted his money on the shirts?

Apparently he was at London Colney a month ago to sort out all the particulars. Interesting, like despite all the furores and uncertainty it was always planned. Interesting the way these things happen

Went to Ghana once, Accra , probably the friendliest people you could ever meet. Nice to have another African midfield warrior onboard

So I watched a bit of that sky sports transfer deadline and was subjected to Harry Redknapp slouching in his chair tipping Tottenham to stage an upset and win the title. The prospect of a Mourinho led Tottenham winning the title is so horrifying I can’t even bring myself to belittle it.

They ‘announced’ Partey for what it’s worth and declared it as proof Kreonke was ‘open for business’. They obviously haven’t heard the news of letting gunnersauraus go to offset the outlay...

I think Ceballos would be good in a more advanced role.

Arteta may keep the formation because he's not confident about a back four, rather than a lack of belief in the capabilities of our midfielders.

Well some of the pundits are looking at the keeper and suggested he does not inspire confidence in the defence. I think it is a little bit of that and I would not discount that tiredness after 2 big seasons of shutting down other teams may not have caught up with them.

I think these factors play a role but also sometimes weird things just happen, and we get an outcome on the extreme tail of the probability distribution.

Like the other day, I was about to throw an empty milk carton away when I decided to squeeze the air out to save space. I'd accidently left the lid on. It popped off, hit the ceiling, and landed neatly back in place.

I was astonished. But Liverpool losing 7-2 astonished me even more!

Someone told
Me Harry was asked for his opinion on a particular team and transfers and he said ‘i don’t know their squad well enough’ That’s literally your only or main job when appearing as a pundit on deadline day.
What would be said if Micah Richards or Alex Scott came out with that sort of analysis

So in the end we kept a lot of the players linked with moves. Sokratis,Mustafi, Chambers, saliba etc

Must be a bit of a disaster, means that Mustafi will be leaving on a free next summer and we have to pay all of Sokratis wages even though Arteta can’t use him as he can’t play out.

We need to omit 2 players from the squad. Kolasinac, Sokratis, Özil would be the main contenders

So if we are rating this transfer window I wound probably give it a 6.5. That’s obviously dependent on how the signings get on, but I’m assuming we’ve significantly improved the first team with Partey and Gabriel and managed to keep hold of Aubameyang. Hopefully Willian can improve us too but so far he’s only shone against Fulham who were awful.

Mustafi must be up there. Injured now we are overloaded in his position and could be loan in January when the window re opens.

Our bloated squad will help the Europa league fixtures

I can see Mustafi getting another year on his contract, to avoid that happening. Think it was a Rich who mentioned that possibility. If it wasn’t him, somebody did.

He’s also a decent squad back up as a central defender, which may increase the chances of him getting a further year.
