This team could easily get relegated. Forget top four and Europe next year. The battle is to stay in the EPL next season

Fans are the heart of any club, this club has treated us with indifference.

Agreed. And after over 10 years of wanting more, wanting ambition, wanting lessons learnt it feels like the fans have gone beyond anger and frustration - the fans feel resigned

Positives: Freddie is not the guy.
Negatives: Too many to post.

As soon as you start signing twats like Luiz you have problems

Mate said last week if ever there was a defender destined to play for arsenal.

There’s several players in our squad who cost serious money who aren’t fit to wear the shirt but we have to persist.

Our problems are now terminal. Like I said at the weekend, offer Brendon Rogers the biggest cheque we can afford. A novice manager won’t be able to fix this I assure you. This is turning into a disaster

Yep, other teams fans who don’t watch the games will scoff at the suggestion and write it off as overly frustrated fans. But my goodness it really is a reality
5 points above the bottom 3 but Everton will have the chance of that new manager bounce every team gets(!)
West Ham (a) defeat based on West Ham wanting it more
City (h) even a decent arsenal lose to them
Everton (a) we won’t be up for that. That’s got 2-0 defeat written all over it
Bournemouth (a) might scrape a draw but will probably lose up against the pace and movement of their attacking players
Chelsea (h) and Man U (h) might get draws that will seem credible but could easily make terrible off the ball errors and get done by counter attacks and lose both
Actually, there’s not much point going any further, we can’t beat Brighton, wolves, palace or Southampton at home so where are the points coming from. Has a team ever stayed up on 19 points!!

You simply can’t insert a Arteta or Vieira into this situation. It’s past that

This requires an older head now.

Doubt if an ambitious manager like Rogers will abandon a title chasing team to join this gormless, relegation form shambles.

If the players refuse to or cannot learn basic off the ball positioning then why do we keep picking them. Go and pick a defence and midfield made up from the U23 players, put Leno behind them and put Pépé, Aubameyang and Martinelli up top.

This has nothing whatesoever to do with lack of expenditure ... we are regularly outplayed by minnows Norwich , Watford , Southampton , Wolves , Crystal Palace , Brighton because they have more heart , bottle , application whatever you want to call it .

Pépé's transfer fee would probably have brought the whole Brighton squad .

Don't see many points before Christmas.

By the way look at what Potter has done to Brighton. In a few months he’s changed them from a dour, direct nothing team to a club playing out from the back, crisp passing, off the ball movement and creating plenty of chances. I saw them v Liverpool and they were twice as good as we were there.

It really isn’t rocket science, get a manager with an identity and philosophy and bomb out of the club anyone who isn’t towing the line

When teams break against us our midfield area is like the Mary Celeste, there's nobody there just wide open spaces.

You don't even see that in Sunday morning football.

We cannot afford to have a luxury player like Özil in the side nor can we afford to be playing the league's top scorer in a wide position.

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin to Amazon: "I don't know what to say. I have the feeling that whatever we do it doesn't come out right. The team gave its best, we created chances, we defended good but it seems like we need so many chances to score and teams score every chancee against us. I am lost for words a little bit.

"Every single player has given 100%. When we go out on to the pitch we want to win and give our best. I feel that our team was full of energy, it's hard to take. We have to keep going, I am sure 100% that results will come.

"Football is like life sometimes, you go through ups and downs. I have won trophies here, had good seasons and bad seasons.

"Freddie has helped the team a lot this week. He has added a lot of energy to the dressing room."

I’m sorry but lots to disagree with there Hector.
Opposition scoring every chance and us having to work so hard for them? That sounds like blaming bad luck rather than facing up to the facts, Brighton could have had 5 tonight!

We have had a really easy run of matches. I mean really very easy. Played the bottom three and could not get a win! *%^@*** relegation form is that.

This situation requires a big man to change things. It probably already also needs a fairly top quality CB and DCM in January. So that's at least £100 million plus a new manager. But this is not to get us into the top four. That is long gone. It's necessary to stave off relegation.

Any sound minded professional would run a million miles from this mess but if Rogers is on 5 million a year then double it and pay him ten million a year even if it meant selling a squad player like Smith rowe to finance it. Turn down doubling your salary ? Tougher decision.

Agreed, if Özil does nothing v Brighton at home he just shouldn’t be in the team. We have far too many passengers without the ball.
Comparing the energy of our front 3 v Liverpool’s is like chalk and cheese

I want to see a CB pairing of Chambers and Holding. We’ve tried everything else.

The only top manager who would take us on now is one with a massive ego who believes he can work miracles because nobody wants a failure on their CV especially if they have designs on one of the real top jobs like Barca, Madrid or Bayern.

Why not give bloody Graham Potter a go, Brighton looked a class act on the ball.

Ljungberg saying “we didn’t work hard enough”

That is not acceptable. There has to be repercussions. Don’t keep picking these players. Drop them. If they are happy enough to sit on the sidelines collect their money and not fight for a place in the team then dump them out of the club completely.

I’ve had enough of the lot of them

The only time when I can remember us being this bad was 94-95 when our side was just plain average just prior to George getting sacked. Couldn’t buy a win

I’m not trying to depress anybody but this is bad. We are 5 points off relegation zone and have city & chelsea coming up and united on New Year’s Day.

This can go anywhere

We had lower quality players and even then we were not this bad. Feels like mid 1970s bad when we avoided relegation two years running. Need a Jimmy Rimmer and a Brian Kidd in the team

Not quite sure where all this Potter eulogising is coming from. Because Arsenal make them look good? It's all about points on the board and this time last season, Brighton were three points better off.

Benitez for me. I know that is a far from progressive move but we need a really experienced manager to steady the ship. He is the type to get players to work hard on the defensive side of the game. It wouldn't be pretty but Emery has drained the confidence from most of the players and they need a strong manager to turn it around.

A winless run of 9 games is the worst in 42 years, 1977.
And look which sides we have on the horizon....fancy 16th/17th place possibly.

This is going to worse. We are in crisis territory. When Too Gun said we are in free fall he was dead right. This is on the owners.

Drop Özil. He slows down our attacks. And he is hardly, or never, around to defend.

Most of our players are lazy.

Drop Luiz. Style but no substance.

We are leaking goals to everyone. Freddie's not up to it. I've suggested as much. This season may just have to be a wash. Don't be shocked if we end up mid table. It's not the end of the world. Liverpool finished 8th a few years ago. Man Utd went through the same thing under Moyes. Chelsea nearly as bad as well.

We flog the dead weight. Get started now on targets for both January and the summer. I am willing to wait for Rodgers. Sacrifice the rest of the season to wait for him in the summer. I'd rather that than Howe or anyone else like Arteta.

I agree Brom ... we are past being able to be fussy , it's all hands the the pumps and stand by the lifeboats Big Sam would be my choice .
He can organise a defence , has presence , not shy in criticising players . Ljungberg is far too lightweight
, I doubt Mertesacker is the " tell em how it is " type either
We don't want nice guys , club legends , we are at a crisis point because it is all to obvious no-one at the club has any idea what to do .

Check this out

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qN6i0Rt2WDg ... ..the panel nails the problems while the official Arsenal dude Jules somebody is in full blown defensive mode trying to deflect criticism .
