Loving Ceballos celebrating that goal. Love how happy he was.

Aubie should have scored. Criminal he didn't even get a shot off.

Burnley finally get a yellow card and it's Barnes ruining their last attack. I think that's the just desserts I was looking for. Pépé - a really poor ball to Aubameyang when they were 2 on 1 - nailed on goal if he gets that right, but some nice flashes from him, more and more promising. We should have scored at lease one more from the chances we had a think. Bit concerning with defensive frailty and playing out from the back was hit and miss if i'm being generous - we did have at least one great attack when we swept through them. But underwhelming overall if I'm honest bit like the Newcastle result, but two wins out of two. Don't think we'll get anything at all from Liverpool away on these two performances so far.

Well we got the points but jeez there were some problems exposed in our match plan. Closed down time and again at the back. Luis really needs to clear the ball with his head more than 6 metres right to their players and Leno on crosses and corners -OMG.

The positives were Guendouzi, Ceballos, Pépé and I thought Willock did some good things but not often enough. We play like that next week and we will be slaughtered.

Three precious points but we can already see we are going to have to beat teams Kevin Keegan style because our back four is shocking at the moment. I thought Leno showed to day the one big weakness in his game, coming for crosses and corners.

Admittedly you don't see that many teams with the aerial threat that Burnley possess but it just feels we don't have enough defenders who really want or know how to defend.

Ceballos was excellent today and I though Willock was very good too. That young midfield three has a certain dynamism that is lacking when Xhaka plays. Whether they can be trusted away from home I don't know.

Pépé looks incredibly quick with his feet. Will be interesting to see how he develops.

Aubameyang with a moment of class to win the game.

Could have cut and paste that comment from last week.

We should ask Warrior to make a shortcut key for that phrase to save us time.

First of all what a baller that Cellobos is, great game. Thought at half time, should had took Willcock or Nelson off, put Luiz in midfield , and Brought on Chambers to get more height as we were being bombarded, and let Luiz have more input to the attack.

Logically, I should want a draw in the City vs Scum game. But the emotional and admittedly irrational side of me, wants the scum to win in order to ease my tormented mind about City going undefeated. I should be more concerned about Liverpool if last season is anything to go by. And I do. Hoping Soton can come back from a goal down, although I think the best they can hope for is getting a draw out of it.

I see a lot of positives from Pépé & Cellebaros coming through in the future. Both are upgrades to Ramsey and Iwobi. Give Emery time and he will work strategies to leverage their skills.

But our defence is shockingly fragile. Is it psychological or just insufficient organisation. Who is in charge?

Another thing, Cellebaros is our new Alexis.

If we defend like that against Liverpool we will get hockeyed.

Ceballos was brilliant and is the new Carzola with his footwork but with more drive forward. Couldn't have asked for a better performance. Apart from the Burnley goal I don't know why we were seen as fragile. Burnley bombed it in sure but rarely did it lead to anything threatening. What I don't understand is why Leno can't pick the ball up and throw it overarm like Lehman used to. Would be quicker than trying to drop and pass with the feet all the time. More accurate too overall I saw tonnes more positives than negative.

Ceballos was brilliant and only needs time to start scoring. Better than Özil as well.

I’m with you on this Gaz, although I’d add Chelsea to your list of Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool. If City’s new found wealth stops those four teams winning the league, for me that’s a benefit that comes from it because I don’t see Arsenal under Kroenke stopping them. I’m really not going to get stuffy about how City acquired it and whether it’s fair. If it stops those four from winning stuff, good!

So even if the league turns into a procession year after year you won't mind so long as Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea and United don't win?

I'd rather see a good scrap between two or more of those, even if Arsenal are out of the mix, thanks.

Can’t see any evidence that the league is turning into much of a procession, based on last season. What is happening is that on the occasions City have won the league recently, Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool haven’t. So I’m fine with that.

Not too dissimilar to last year. Lots of the play, our two main forwards score the goals and we look a bit vulnerable at the back.

It looks like Ceballos could be a huge difference for us based on today. Wonderful feet, seemingly playing deep and attacking mid at the same time.

Still worried how easy it was for Burnley to press us and win the ball back in our half. Burnley are a well drilled team but more and more teams are as well.

The 4-3-3 doesn’t get the best out of Aubameyang when he has to play wide. All his chances came through the central position.

Should have stuck away more than 2 goals today.

It’s been 10 years since we won our first two games of the season.

Liverpool will also press us even more feverishly than Burnley.

The game plan v Liverpool has to be to target Trent Alexander Arnold, or specifically the space he leaves behind. Van Dijk plays on the left of the Centre backs so their right side is definitely the area to target

Problem with Ceballos is that if he maintains that level of performance this season then you will have city, United and other premiership clubs offering Madrid 100 million next summer. Probably one of the most impressive debuts I’ve seen for some time. Practically every touch and pass was excellent and he will show up Özil as a complete embarrassment if he keeps that up.

I’d say he’s more of a Fabregas.

Also really nice to see Ceballos make a yard and shoot from 25 yards. Far too few of our players do this, or execute it well.

Can you believe spurs? Absolutely battered by city. Spurs have two shots and score two goals. City nearly 20 shots.

Heard a few times this is our best start to a season in 10 years with our two wins and I keep thinking so what? We’ve played Newcastle and Burnley and yes fair enough beaten them both but last year we he had Chelsea away and then City at home - we were always likely to struggle.

I’m immediately sad that we’ve got little chance of Ceballos sticking around, did you know he has a buyout in his contract? 500Million Euros... but I think I just need to get into the right mindset and think he’ll help us got back to where we want to be and that’s good.

I’m not looking beyond the Liverpool game perhaps that explains the sober outlook. I expect the team to rise to the occasion a bit, especially without the aerial bombardment al la Burnley, but I can see we aren’t quite firing enough for that to mean get anything from the game.

Hopefully we get a result at Liverpool however it’s worth remembering that our battle is with spurs, chelsea and United. If we lose people shouldn’t get too despondent. There’s enough evidence to suggest we can do well this season.

That said I fully expect people to be calling for Emery’s head here next weekend.

Var is going to cause loads of issues this year. Such a clear penalty not given in the City game. The spurs man wrestled and flattened the city player. If that is reviewed it’s given. Who is deciding who reviews what? How far back do they review on a goal?

Am I right in saying our central midfield was 19,20 and 21 years old?

Ceballos is such a good player. Absolutely loved his performance today

In the NFL I think its 2 challenges each coach gets per game that must be reviewed by video.

Why do MOTD give so much to Dyche’s comments about supposed diving. They play his interview moaning about diving and then show some of the incidents he’s unhappy with. The MOTD pundits pretty quickly shot it down but even giving it the air time is what dyche wants.

Do you think if emery moaned about Burnley’s constant fouling the MOTD guys would have given 2-3 highlights of bad, late, nightly fouls including shoving a defender in to an o rushing gk?

I also thought we looked poor at the back. Our players were continually shut down and we struggled to get the ball to the midfielders. In an endeavour to clear our lines we played numerous square balls across the area and this will cost us in the future. We failed to win numerous headers in the box and there was too much tippy tappy 30-40 metres out from the goal we were trying to defend.

Don't think I wasn't happy to get the points but we need a big improvement. As long as we build I will be happy but play so sloppily against Pool and Spurs and we could pay heavily.
