I wonder what is going through a refs head when every free kick he gives for one team is hotly debated by the other, and simialrly he doesn’t given any free kicks for the other team when they think it is. No doubt he will stand by all his decisions and think they are all correct but he must surely realise from the reaction of the players when every decision seems to be going one teams way

Oh dear. We haven’t turned up for this one today. Hopefully a different Arsenal will appear for the second half

Lacazette offside and then fouled. Offside over rules the foul because it happens first and gains the striker an advantage....obviously. Interesting how that sensible rule was argued so desperately when Kane was offside in the NLD

To be fair, they beat Chelsea and drew with Liverpool. We've been abysmal so far. One shot in 45 mins of football.

I find that performance both annoying and sad in equal measure. If you are playing for Arsenal football club and that is the best you can offer in terms of effort and fight then its a sad reflection on how standards have slipped in recent years.

Our central midfield is non-existant and our left side (Monreal and Kola) are appalling today.

Poor poor half from Arsenal. Lacazette the only one really up for the fight. Ref has given us nothing at all, but we haven't deserved much. Guendouzi's early booking has paralysed him a little, and Elneny is offering nothing offensively or defensively and is hiding from the ball terribly. When we're in possession he's marking himself by standing next to everton players.

Need a major H/T change as the system and shape aren't working. REALLY missing Xhaka and Torreira.

Quite literally hopefully. Ramsey needs to come on. Elneny off.

I thought Emery had got past this picking completely the wrong starting 11.

We attack teams at home and play our best attacking players. A big reason for our poor away form is Emery’s team selection being so negative

That was absolutely awful. No midfield to speak off and as Dec says Kolasinac has been terrible. Can only hope for a better second half.

Well of course they're going to be up for Liverpool. And Chelsea were awful in that game (as we have been). I'm think more Spurs & Man U who everton gave up as soon as they conceded against.

Emery's done all right I thought? And what's wrong with the stadium?

We're not losing this because of the referee. We're losing because so far it has been one of our bad days at the office.

Agree on Everton’s physicality and intensity, however do they have that same spirit if they go 1-0 down inside 4 mins to the penalty that wasn’t given. Im Sure plenty will try to argue it isn’t a penalty but Lacazette releases the ball, defender doesn’t get the ball, slides in and makes contact with Lacazette- it is a foul anywhere on the pitch in any minute of the game. What if Lacazette’s pass is backwards towards an overlapping full back and sound makes an identical tackle? No brainer

Yup. Elneny offers nothing and Guendouzi is only good with a senior partner.

Elneny is all running but no end product. He should not continue to be in the squad.

We’re missing some players but half of that is Emery’s fault with the team and formation he’s playing.

Ramsay and Aubameyang on for Elneny and Kolasinac.

Two poor shots in dangerous positions though.

Too sloppy from AMN, chance of a break and he lost it leading to an Everton break. He needs to cut those mistakes out of his game, especially in a back 4

It was a dangerous position, I didn't say it was an easy chance. But the shot was rubbish.

Was a position for a left footer.

Wow. Got lucky there with a double error from AMN. All at sea with no idea what he was doing or what was going on. Well done Leno for bailing us out there.

At least we’ve turned up at last.

Leno saves a 1v1 again. And then somehow the calamitous arsenal defence present the ball back to an Everton player lying on his face near the goal line

Embarrassing how Everton get to the by line from a goal kick out wide then a ball down the line. No pressure on any player at any point

AMN is having a shocker. Can’t control or oss a thing. Just put a throw in our for a goal kick.

We’ve improved but still doing absolutely nothing to suggest we won’t just sleepwalk to a 1-0 defeat without a meaningful effort for Pickford to save

How can we have an attack with only 1 man in the box and on the very next move from Everton clearing the ball find ourselves 4v4 and scrambling at the back?! What are the rest of the players doing?

Should be 2 or 3 nil now.

Iwobi on. Özil off.

The space that Richarlison has had today is ashtonishing.

Arsenal busy just giving chances all over to Everton. The lack of any kind of organisation and urgency in us is remarkable for such an important game.

Play like this in Napoli and they will put the tie to bed in one game

Who is the player willing to not accept this and take the game to them. Virtually every player just head down feeling sorry for themselves.

Where is the sodding urgency to have a go and try to get something from the game. A league two side makes the last 10 more uncomfortable for us with a 1 goal lead
