I’ve just seen the away shorts. They look like silk purple boxer shorts that a Tory lord would wear

I can't imagine Vieira being happy managing in a country where football is a distant sport in terms of popularity. NYC is a great place to visit (not to live unless you are making at least half a million a year).

I would think he's frustrated, bored possibly with managing there.

The 3 kits are astonishingly bad. The navy one has some sort of bra effect and the shorts are terrible. The light blue thing looks like Tottenham and the home kit is just horrible. Last year of Puma, thankfully.

I was discussing the Brit TV show 'Luther' with someone and I am a big fan of Idris Alba. I wondered what club he supported and was happy as pie to read he is a gooner. Well done, Idris. Other celebs of clubs. Some I knew, most I didn't.

Liverpool close to Fekir for 65m euros. On the back of £40m for Fabinho and £50m for Keita.
In the last 4 windows Liverpool have a net spend of £70m, actually broke even over the last two seasons.
That’s still £150m in one transfer window and they’ll probably still get a GK.
So that’s the best part of £210m in 5 seasons. £40m per season is not unreasonable. Arsenal SHOULD have more money to spend than Liverpool, but our transfers have been miss managed in virtually every way you could possibly think in the last 5 years. Over paying for average players and under selling.

I don’t understand the Campbell situation. We’ve let him run his contract down whilst on loan. What’s the point I that? We had a £10m offer for him at the last World Cup. The number of players we’ve let go for free or measly sums I think has cost us easily over £100m in the past 6 or so years

Not taking 60 million for Sanchez at the start of the season another piece of rampant stupidity ... Unai would have an extra 70 mill to spend .

For those worried about our on the cheap approach

Bloody hell when you put it like that.

Also spending 17 million on Lucas Perez ... not playing him for one season ... then loaning him back to his previous club .... before probably selling him at half the price. Merci Arsene my arse

70 million buys you a serious central midfielder or wide player

Oh man, I just saw them. WTF??? Somewhere a Spurs supporting designer is cracking up over his negroni with his mates, "but wait, wait, you think the sleeves and shorts were funny? Then I put a bra on the shirt (bends over as he splutters uncontrollably while pounding table with one hand), and THEY F*****G WENT FOR IT!!" I'm guessing Wenger had a lot of personal input on this. A kind of 'be careful what you wish for' up yours, au revoir.

£12 million get-out clause, a bargain.

They’re in a different position than us though. This is Klopp’s third summer transfer window for Liverpool, and 18/19 will be his fourth season as manager. Their system is set and he’s had time to evaluate the squad so he knows exactly what he can expect from the players. In his first summer he signed Mané, Wijnaldum, Matip, Karius and Klavan, which is hardly inspiring on paper.

Not a fan of the shirt. Too PSGish. Or on a local level, a wee bit Crytsal Palace-ish...although not as red as their shirt.

I think the 3rd kit is more green than it appeared in the promo shots - wher it looked light blue.

https://www.footyheadlines.com/2017/12/ ... d-kit.html

I thought last years black and pink trim 3rd kit was class and modern. I don't mind the 3rd kits having the look and feel they do, a two tone effort where even the club badge is two tone.

The home and away kits are pretty awful.

Some Arsenal fans have been mocking up potential adidas kits. Some of these look brilliant, you wonder what paid kit designers are doing when amateurs can come up with these. (obviously the bruised banana adidas kit is in there)

Erm possibly not the best time to mention this but I know the guy responsible for designing all this stuff :laughing7:

He’s not Spurs but yes all this gear is utter crap :laughing7:

Waiting for Adidas to return and the only shirt I want to see is a return of a retro bruised banana kit

I have no idea who Ramz is. Never hard of Barking. But reading some Arsenal related information, I hear he has a hit song and he was a former steward at the stadium and obviously a huge gooner.
So, now I'm by extension a fan. :icon_mrgreen:

Interesting, because what we define as 'race' today is a modern concept. And its fluid. In America, 150 years ago, if you weren't protestant and European you were pretty much not deemed fully 'white' if you were from the Balkan states, Jewish, Sicilian, Greek, Irish. Our census has changed a few times. Arabs, north Africans, Persian, many Latinos are listed on their driver's licenses as 'white'. There is an Egyptian who is clearly black who has fought in courts to be deemed black and he can't. He's officially and legally white...lol.

The bible speaks of nations not race. The Romans as well. If you spoke Greek, dressed as a Greek and acted like a Greek you were Greek even though you may have migrated there as a kid and clearly didn't look Greek. Aesop of the famous greek Aesop fables was believed to be of African descent.

The modern concept of race corresponded with the slavery and subjugation of global peoples from the European powers (although the Arabs were far more advanced in it). I guess it was a convenient way to cognitive dissonance from our humanity at the time.

However, why should it be strange if Özil is on the German team and not strange if America has all manner or races and ethnicities? Sports teams often reflect the make up of the country. Germany has a large Turkish population so its logical I would assume that its sports has Germans of Turkish descent.

I see that we’re scheduled to play Chelsea on 4th Aug in the International Champions Cup. Have I missed something. What are we Champions of?

Neither side play in this comp LTG. ICC games are being played across US after WC.

In the same way the 2nd , 3rd placed English Premier Lesgue teams plus 4th [ if they make it through the play offs ] manage to squeeze into the European Champions League ... they aren't champions of anything either .

It's all about $$$$$$$$ .

An honour indeed. In fact when I started watching we competed for the ‘Top of the Bottom Half of the Table’ trophy. And failed to win it.

So true. My grandad used to tell me about the Arsenal sides that he had watched in the 30s and it seemed difficult to relate to as though from a different world. The difference is as nothing compared to the gap between then and now. The old Arsenal Supporters Club building seems impossibly quaint.

Torriera Of Sampdoria is a player we are supposedly looking at for defensive mid. People saying he’s a kante/veratti type. If he’s anything like those two then sign me up. £22m buy out clause.

Never seen him play, but his profile sounds like everything we're looking for. Aggressive defensive midfielder, ball winner with good close control and good passing range. Only 22 years old. Certainly more exciting than Fellaini...
