I wonder if Emery will sub out "Jay" Leno? If we were to win the Europa cup but have a dismal rest of the league season, I'd still feel a ways about being in the CL again.

Oh well.

*%^@*** embarrassing
Started well and just collapsed after a free kick from neves who has been banging them in from all angles.
We were never going to make top 4 with all these tricky away games.
We can forget it now.
Even if we did make it what impact are we going to make in the champions league anyway
Just embarrassing

There is no excuse for this. Wolves are good but with the team we have there is no reason why we can’t play like them. I’m actually jealous of the style of play of wolves.

Mistakes all over the pitch. Leno having his worst game all season. Defence all over the place. Goal difference being wiped out. Midfield sloppy. Zero shots on goal. Zero even attempts at an assist. Zero attempts at crosses.......and 75% of the sodding ball!

Where on earth do we go from here? Champions league won’t happen with the league position. It will take a miracle to win Europa. No money for new signings, high earners sucking the life out of the club.

I’d swap half this wolves team for our starting 11

The fact that the collapse was so obviously coming after they scored their first is excruciating.

Where is the pride? Where is the fight? Where are the leaders?

Bernard says I moan too much about the defence all the time but we are bloody useless both individually and collectively. We have gifted them one goal and arguably the wall failed to do its job for the first as well.

Add to that a lack of urgency, incisiveness and end product when we do get ourselves in good positions and its a recipe for disaster.

I realise he had to retire due to age but we're much worse without Mertesacker, as I proved statistically. Whether you like it or not, we're missing his authority, calmness, leadership and organisation. Mertesacker was such an important player for this club.

Diabolical to get ourselves in a decent position and just blow it in the most spectacular fashion

I’ve turned off. Can’t be bothered to watch the second half. Joke team.

Never seen such a group of bottlers away from home

Our season on the line and we don’t show up. A f...ing spineless performance from what is ...absent Aubameyang our best team...This is beyond embarrassing. The manager and players have failed to do their jobs. I hate losing but i’ll live with it if we go down fighting. This is sickening because we were pathetic. Tippy Tao toothless football. Wolves watch it for a bit and think f me. Let’s go up their end and score a few.

I saw that free kick from 3000 miles away. A big gaping gap to the goalies right just waiting for a competent player to put it there.
Then one man marking two for a short corner giving one of them plenty of time to measure a cross. Offside but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
Third goal weak in midfield and a top goalie would have saved it.

Oh for a Tony Adams or Frank McClintock. Leaders fighters give their all for the cause. This bunch of pussies make me sick..
We aren’t good enough at every level throughout the whole club. Ownership manager coaches players.
I’m sick at what my beloved club has become.

When I look at centre backs of nearly every other team in the prem I wonder if they would make typically arsenal type mistakes if we signed them?
I mean the likes of Coady, Tomkins, Dunk, Lascelles - all decent prem level defenders coached in defending. What if two of those were our CBS?

2nd goal wasn’t offside. Sokratis stayed in playing 4 onside. Just as Jenkinson did v palace

I reckon Adams, Bould and Keown could do a better job now even at their ages. I'm only half joking as well. We'd certainly be more organised and more resiliant.

That list of players I put up earlier of who might potentially leave and what price we might get. I would absolutely bite your hand off for even 75% of those values to just get all those players out of the club

I don't understand Leno, he's looked a worldbeater lately but tonight he looks second-rate, and that's being kind.

I mean there’s players out there on a couple of hundred grand a week. You could sign more committed players on half that and get more out of them.

It’s just a sin blowing it this way

5-4 to The Arsenal. You heard it here first. Call your bookies.

I said I would watch but it’s on. It’s another clear penalty on Lacazette not given. It boils my blood when you see what salah gets pens for compared to what Lacazette doesn’t.

He was offside but that wasn’t given so the ref is just judging the pen. Awful just like the one at home to palace

Here’s my bottom half of the league 11 that would be more of a threat away from home
Heaton
Wan bissaka
Bertrand
Maguire
Lascelles
Milivojevic
Rice
Fraser
Zaha
Maddison
Wilson
I like that team

The problem is the manager ... we've got Wenger Mark 2 .

Told Granty Boy this after the Palace defeat .

We pass backwards and sideways so often , our every attack is faced with a nice organised wall of defenders by comparison the opposition attack at pace and that is why we look all over the joint .
Emery has shown no sign of curing this fault .

We take a corner and under the slightest of pressure the ball is back with our keeper :1cry:

72 % possession , 8 shots ... none on target ..... right out of the Wenger archives

I realised I cheated by having Leicester players who are 10th. Will need to bring in a Brighton defender and maybe almiron from Newcastle to play in the hole.....or arnautovic

Nketiah has done more in 3 mins that Iwobi and Mkhitaryan combined.

I’d be all for playing him and Willock in remaining away games. At least if they sh*t the bed they are young and can learn from it

Easy 4 on 3 break for wolves. We attack and it’s 3 on 7.

I ask this question far too often, but how on earth can we be consistently outnumbered when defending and attacking within the same minute of play!?

Workrate is terrible.

I really hope Emery is silently making nite of all this and anyone who has shown they aren’t willing to pull their weight in every game just gets unceremoniously dumped in the summer

1 back Sokratis.

Wolves show they can be rubbish at defending a set piece as well

Holy cr@p. Been out. Just got back in to check the score. Worse than I could ever have imagined.

I mean with our away record the scoreline should not be a surprise. What’s really troubling is that despite a strong Arsenal team it sounds like we have been uncompetitive even with the chance of getting top 4.

If I calm down and look at the bigger picture of the game we’re once again talking about things that are hard to legislate for.

Leno has been fantastic most of the season but drops 2 absolute ricks to cost us two goals.

Indodual mistakes always costing us

Amazingly this terrible Man U team could get top 4.

If they can pull together 1 good performance and beat Chelsea, they then have Cardiff and Huddersfield in their last two. Win all 3 and they’ll almost certainly nick 4th!

Other than for financial reasons there’s really not much point in us being in the Champions League next season.

Why are we so awful at winning fouls and at the same time so dumb and easy to lure a cheap foul out of?

Time to throw the league, blood more youngsters and focus squarely on the Europa. Better from Guendouzi today, Nketiah has been bright. Lacazatte has worked really hard, and actually our centre-halves weren't too bad today. Xhaka was poor but his set pieces were excellent. No-one else gets any credit at all.

You are assuming Europa is the easier competition. :42laughter:

4th is pretty much dead, but not because we’re reliant on others. More because we can’t win away- not even close.
Well probably get just 3 more point this season.
Need Man U to draw with Chelsea which puts Man U a point behind and Chelsea 2 points in front. Our game in hand would be Leicester away!

Despite Emery’s progress were miles away from where we need to be

New left back
New centre back
Better competition for Bellerin at right back
New midfielder (Ramsey)
2 new wide players

Massive summer ahead

All of the other sides left in the Europa cup are about 5th or so in their respective leagues. It's not going to be easy. I was surprised the Napoli tied went that easy. Even if we do win it, and if we win it collapsing in the league the rest of the way, it won't feel right. Maybe lifting a European trophy will change that feeling but right now, I feel we don't deserve it. That said, it would break my heart if we lost to Chelsea in the final, assuming both clubs go through.

Whole new defence really. Van Dijk turned Liverpool from awful to great. We need a signing like him who will organise on the pitch because no one else at the club on or off the field seems able to organise it
