Can't even keep a clean sheet against a dad noise from Ukraine. Come on Arsenal.

Annoyingly sloppy at the end 4-2 having been 4-0 up.

Emery should be furious at the team for switching off at 4-0. Ridiculous that we only ended up 2 ahead. We were so far better than them.

There is a big difference between conserving energy to see out a game and switching off and not being professional.

Standards need to be set that weren’t set under wenger

It's been an Arsenal trait though hasn't it to not close out matches in good order. To get too lax.

Agreed ... I only saw from the 67th minute so didn't get the buzz live of our first three goals but I hate this goddamn superior 'stroll in the park routine

.. play little triangles that crept in the last ten minutes ... Smith Rowe ,Guendouzi aside

You don't have to bust a gut but at least pass it forward , try and create something and their late goal exemplified how stupid that attitude is .

He gave up his season ticket so doesn't go now. Not seen him but I got the impression from a mutual friend that he's okay.

Emery needs to look at how we conceded the goals, and work on improving these. No Xhaka on the pitch to blame for it, so who is/were the midfielder/s who failed to track back? My first suspicion is Mkhitaryan. I think we have not had a single clean sheet since the start of competitive season.

We seemed to lose focus after Torriera went off, surely he has to start against Everton.

Was impressed with what I saw of Smith-Rowe, looks very promising indeed.

Leno good with his feet yesterday. Not sure how much chance he had with either goal. They were maybe 1/10 saves

Torreira has to start v Everton. Play him alongside Xhaka, Torreira’s hustle and defensive cover can release Xhaka to dictate play

Don't be such a spoilsport. Xhaka can surely be blamed for both of their goals. It seems over fussy to point out that he wasn't on the pitch.

No one knows how good he is as he has never had a manager's job. I merely saying he could well be a good manager. I don't think it is far fetched to consider him for the Arsenal job.

Some good individual performances last night despite the team switching off for the last 20 mins.
Very encouraged from what I’ve seen of Sokratis. Times his tackles well, muscles players out of it, decent turn of pace and not too bad with the ball at his feet. For £20m it is looking so far like a very good deal.

Torriera is very likeable, always looking forward, not scared to try a longer chipped ball in to space, technique is sound and rarely out of position. He’s going to nail a first 11 spot pretty soon

Iwobi looked very lively, motm for me as everything decent we did had him involved. Still needs to improve that final pass or shot but I liked his willingness to drive and take on the full back. Still only 22

There still needs to be additions to the squad, some genuine width would be good and the team still had a tendency to play too slow in the first half.

I thought Sokratis looked very assured last night and also Guendouzi looks like a bargain. However, it’s a bit worrying that we conceded 2 goals against a really poor side. As for the poor Atttendance, the club should hand out free tickets to schools.

Attendance last night was recorded as 59,039.

Have to say it's a bit annoying - only a bit, mind - that these group games in the Europa count against the 7 home cup ties for Season Ticket entitlement. I know my tickets for the Europa are only £23.50 but the additional match-day costs rack that up quite a bit, so unless it's a fixture I fancy, I don't attend. Because these fixtures never sell out, STs can't be posted on the Ticket Exchange so it's a £23.50 hit each time - not a massive loss but a bit annoying, as I say.

I managed to give my tickets away for last night. I had to spread the word far and wide but I was happy that eventually there were takers - friends of friends of friends. I like to see the tickets used. On several occasions last season, there was no interest whatever. Can't say I'm surprised.

I thought Mkhitaryan had a good game as well, got two assists, and was part of the build-up for our first goal. Guendouzi looked really good when he came on as well, think we’ve found a real gem there. Hard to rate these kind of performances. The opponents were one of the worst teams I’ve seen us play in a competitive game. We should definitely win this group without too much trouble.

Sokratis looked good and Iwobi looks a new player under Emery

God knows how we managed to still concede twice to that shower though

You can surely say that about anyone that hasn't been a number one. I believe the post-Wenger job at Arsenal suggests experience would make an appointment less of a risk than just giving the post to somebody you admit is an unknown factor as a number one. Especially an unknown who never appeared as a particularly forceful character. Personally I reckon we may well have dodged a bullet by not giving it to Arteta.

At first, I was very annoyed at the goals as some on here mentioned. After a night to sleep on it, I am not making more out of it than is needed. If I were City or Liverpool I would be making more of it. Right now, at this early stage in the Emery era, the win is all important. The two goals are just part of a long process we have going forward. He knows it needs sorted. The win and certain individual performances are what is more important. After a nights rest I feel a bit petty harping on it. Not saying anyone else should be as dismissive. Can't tell one fan how to feel about their own club's deficiencies.

We're winning, going from strength to strength hopefully and trying to figure out our best XI and tactics and style of play.

I really miss Exiled's contribution to this forum, especially all the historical material he provided for us. If you are out there Ex, don't be an ex!

Quite right. It was Wenger's fault for not selecting him. Should never have listened to Gordon Brown's advice.

Walcott talks about how he fell out of love with football a little while with us. I am guessing he wasn't alone.

There probably are thing that interest me less than Feo's views. But I can't think of any now ...

Just seen Welbeck's goal record by minute rather than by games played in the Premier League since the beginning of last season. With 6 goals in 1126 minutes, he averages a goal every 187.7 minutes. In other words, a goal every 2 games 7 minutes. To me that doesn't seem too bad for a player who has probably operated in a wide position for the majority of those minutes..

I like Welbeck. His attitude on the pitch is first class and he is one of the few really strong physical players we have. He's also very good in the air. His ball striking technique is poor (something I find baffling in so many professional footballers) but he is a valuable squad member when fit. He's also English which is a positive. Unfortunately, I can't see him signing a new contract as he can walk away for nothing next summer.

I think you're right dec, although I hope you're not. Sadly I expect this to be Welbeck's last season at the club.

An added bonus of Man Utd possibly doing badly this season is Sanchez winning nothing and doing marginally better than he was with us.

I think likes of Welbeck and Ramsey can be convinced to stay if they think we are capable of getting a top 4 finish and eventually be a genuine title contender in a couple of seasons...

Welbeck already has a league title and I think it would take some convincing to suggest we will be genuine title contenders any time soon. I'd say he is looking at securing the final big contract of his career and I doubt very much it will be at Arsenal.

I'd be surprised if any of the other top clubs in the league would be interested in him. If he gets decent game time and an offer from us I'd think there's every chance he'd accept.

Very good match going on between the Hammers and Chelsea. West Ham playing very well, good end to end stuff. They had their chances. Hopefully they can put in a similar effort in the 2nd half.

Win and we're 5th equal with our local neighbours. Could be 4th if we beat Watford in our next game.
