I have, many times in different versions. My second favourite film. Didn't enjoy the remake though.

Good for you , but I'm gloriously happy I brought the kids back to the poxy little country .

My next door neighbour is a Pom , he arrived back a month ago after spending six months in England refurbishing his ailing parents' house ... he reckons England is heading downhill at a rapid rate of knots .

I hear this a lot to be honest but disagree. Through my job I travel all over the place and despite Silicon Valley there's some really duff parts of California that are practically like slough. Nowhere is perfect. I think Brexit is scaring many and I can't see a genuine Benefit coming from the whole thing but I think people could be getting a little carried away.

Go into London on any weekday and after 4pm find a boozer that isn't packed to the rafters.

I think reports of our demise are a little premature and whilst the tories are a nightmare, Corbyn is a dinosaur and the country is a political mess things aren't as bad as folks make out.

It's a shitehole but it's our shitehole if you know what I mean and I think people are being overly negative. (I can understand why though)

Yeah it's not perfect but when its everybody's whipping boy I get a bit bored of the hypocrisy and double-standards. Was in neo-liberal Chile recently, it's full of migrants from socialist Venezuela that Corbyn and his buddies still hold rallies for. Or you know going on Iranian TV to slag off Israel - that kind of thing.

Parts of Britain and aspects of our culture and society are still fantastic - couldn't give a *%^@ if that upsets any prissy little Guevara wannabes.

Having said that, if you really want British savages then you couldn't do better than Army v Navy at Twickenham.

It is an offence to my refined sensibilities - foul-mouthed drunken arseholes.

Used to have an office in Twickenham. Take a walk down the high st there after most rugby games and you'll never let anyone tell you again it's a gentlemans sport followed by intellectuals.

Oh yes. Army v Navy is a real low though. I can only take my mind off it by imagining Niall's reaction to it all

Where did this £50 million transfer bucket rumour come from. You'd think there would be a shedload more cash than that in the kitty. Especially of the expectation is that the new manager is to do better than Wenger.

What's your favourite film?

The Ipcress File. Perhaps I've never mentioned it here before.

Did you see they were going to remake it with Orlando Bloom playing the Michael Caine role?

Michael Caine films shouldn't be re made, there's nobody quite like him. Did you see the remakes of Alfie, Italian job and get carter. Shocking scenes

Casting Katy Perry as Jean is a big mistake in my book.

I think you have and I'll mention it again that it is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Along with other turd like classics such as Blair witch project, Sixth Sense and Armageddon.

It's going to all be a bit Alan Partridge isn't it ? He leaves us in a terrible state, are they expecting everyone to be wearing those "I was there when Wenger left t shirts"

Delighted to see scummy stoke go down.
Disgusting club.
Does anyone know why they are relegated if mathematically they can still catch swansea??

I assume it's because they're goal difference is 8 worse than Swansea that people are saying they're down, even if it's not yet official. Goal difference has relevance throughout the season. Every single goal scored and conceded on the first day of the season counts the same as every single goal scored and conceded on the last day.

It is official. Bottom three go down, and Swansea play Southampton so one/both will get point(s)

Possibly because Swansea play Southampton in one of their two games left so even if they lose that game and Southampton take their place S'tons goal difference is vastly superior.

Nothing to do with goal difference. They simply can’t catch both of Swansea and Southampton

There were a few poor episodes but at its best I thought The Sweeney was great.

Bet West Brom wish they'd appointed Darren Moore ages ago. Really making a fight of it since they sacked Pardew.

Glad to see that my local club as a kid have been relegated. I was raised in the Borough of Barnet so went to school there. Nearly everyone supported Arsenal or Tottenham, though Chelsea, West Ham and QPR had one fan each. But whoever they supported nearly everyone's second team was Barnet. I was the exception.

It's not particularly complicated though. He was a fantastic manger for us for a long time. He won't be there any more so it is an opportunity to say thanks for the good stuff. It's possible to do that while still believing that he has not done well in recent years.
