I've had several goes at this and I'm still baffled. Any thoughts as to what this is about?

What on earth is so difficult about it? Klopp has apparently been in charge at Liverpool for 38 league games now, and I saw a table put together to primarily show how Liverpool had done under him by putting all the teams (except promoted/relegated sides as they won't have played 38 Premiership games over that period) in order according to points won and goal difference over the last 38 games. Liverpool come fifth, but it showed Tottenham are top over the last 38 games. Hence if the season had started when Klopp was appointed, Tottenham would have won the title. I thought that probably supports Pete's reply that Tottenham are a real threat, in response to American's question whether they should be seen as one or not.

In my final sentence of that post I should have put "supports Pete's response to a post by American about Tottenham" rather than 'to American', by I don't know why that makes it so much harder to understand.

Sort of like when we won the best team of the calendar year. Great finish to one season and start to the next, but always needing to string it together for the 38 games that actually count

Ospina, Bellerin, Gibbs, Kos, Mustafi, Coq, Cazorla, Özil, Ox, Walcott, Sanchez

Still no Ramsey and Giroud but apparently they aren't far away.

Wenger needs to rotate considering how thick and fast the games come in the next 3 weeks. Can't argue too much with the team. I thought Xhaka might start seeing as he's suspended domestically, however it makes a bit of sense to get Coq back up to match fitness.

In an ideal world we get 4-0 up at half time and Özil, Sanchez and Cazorla can all get a rest

That is so good. Perfectly timed run, cut inside game defender and a brilliant curling lob over the gk. I liked that a lot

That's where ox has to do better. It is such an easy Square pass which should be a tap in for 2-0 for Theo. Ox could even take it on himself as he was virtually 1 v 1 on the gk.

Ludo have been a threat which has meant we've had plenty of chances to get at them and have got behind them quite a few times.

Can't take these guys too easy. They are decent on the ball and quick on the counter

Ludo skim the post. Ospina has done well so far, bailed out Kos and Mustafi errors. Seems like coq is pushing forward with cazorla deeper - don't like it

After saying ludo have been a threat, Arsenal probably should be out of sight already. Far more care needed on the final pass or final shot.

2-0 half time but ludo have given us a few scares, mainly through some errors from our CB.
Two terrific goals. With the way ludo have been committing players forward there has been plenty of space and chances for Arsenal attacks.

Ox still just trying that but too hard, you can see as soon as he does something poor he really over tries on the next thing like a silly dribble or Hollywood pass. Needs to just keep playing it simple and making well timed runs in behind....like Theo

Wouldn't mind seeing elneny in the second half to ensure tings are a bit tighter.

Sloppy performance mixed with some decent attacking and two fine goals. Özil is in full-on lazy mode. Theo is playing well again. We could win this by 4 or 5 if we take the casualness out of the performance.

Yes a few scares at the back, but very enjoyable to watch a game between 2 teams who are both trying to attack. Makes a change.

Coq has been magnificent first half.

Terrible defensive display. Ludo have been through on goal 3 or 4 times. Really poor.

That goal will do Ox a whole lot of good. Good for him. Well taken goal.

Crikey, Soc, I know you like him in a Bernard/Clichy kind of way but "magnificent" is stretching it a bit.

Does anyone else think that Özil's complexion and dark areas around the eyes makes him look as though he's practising for his Halloween outfit, or had a heavy night out last night? Good goal anyway.

Great route one goal. Kos with a brilliant tackle, Cazorla with a fast lob forward and Özil does the rest. Great team goal.

Nice to see us being ruthless for a change.

Ludo were on a dangerous break, great tackle from Kos, one ball over the top, very high line, Özil in, good pace, ridiculously effortless first touch and calm right foot finish.

We won't play teams this open every week. They've gone for it but they have paid the price

5-0. Ox to Perez, great cross and Özil gets another with his right foot. First time finish made to look way too easy

Ox with a wonderful pass to Lucas, who delivered nicely to Özil. Özil scores with ease. Wonderful football. :9adore-boo:

One more and I get a coconut. I'm sure I forecast 5-0 and possibly 7-0 I didn't expect an Özil hattrick.

City lose 4-0 can't be good for their confidence. Aguero dropped/rested another hiccup for Pep.

Another thing I said was we could well be top when we meet Spuds, if Saints keep up their good defensive play it could well happen. Then onwards and upwards.

Here's hoping we haven't peaked too soon and that AW rotates players without mucking up the balance.

Can you fel the love I bet AW is feeling it................

Pressure on Pep. Dropping Aguero. Comedy stuff from Bravo. Stones poor again.

Given Coq is supposed to be screening the back 4, how do those 2 sentences belong in the same post?

I think most of the chances were from balls played over the top or in behind the fullbacks. Not sure what Coq was supposed to about that.
