It's like watching an attack vs defence training session. And about as interesting.

I fear that your earlier prediction is the more likely

Dreadful defending. Just like earlier this week. How lucky was that?

Starting Giroud out of some sense of loyalty or whatever did not help us. If Lacazette needed a rest Welbeck should've played, we need a bit of movement up front.

Oh well, we are no longer a team that can win as we want to. Same old tactics which opposition managers can easily organise defences to counter. Who is our coach? Fire him!

Keown and Ferdinand, rightfully, digging into Wenger.

Oh no, more mumbles mumbles from Wenger. What excuse this time? The referee certainly did a good job today. Some others would have given 2 penalties against us. And maybe award the goal too.

:icon_scratch: the most basic rule in defending don't kick the ball across your goal but he of course can't be told about it he might get worse .

Lively match but all huff and puff , crosses too floated , threading the needle . Faster attack we'd have won .

Still 80% possession , that's the main thing

I missed the second half as I was watching some paint dry. It was infinitely more exciting and far less predictable.

Čech needs replacing, fast. He does not fill me with confidence at all.

Bellerin - no progress for over a year now - limited intelligence. Needs a break; give Debuchy a go.

Maitland-Niles (Conservative) - I like him, but I suspect he'll be Wengered before long.

Sanchez - if it wasn't for his goals I'd say he was overrated.

And I really can't be bothered to do the rest.

The comms were worshipping Wilshire with 34 accurate passes. All 3 yards sideways or back. Penetration absolutely zero. We never created any real chances. Even when Giroud dropped one back to him he was nowhere near forcing a save. West ham did not tightly mark at all. It was an open game for our midfield & we never looked like creating chances. 2/9 points. Hope we catch Burnley soon. The hangover from the United game is pretty long.

We've managed to earn a couple of tough points this week and with luck we may earn another point against Newcastle on Saturday... but I wouldn't bet on it!
Another comedy of errors again today - its going to be a long season if things carry on like this. Where was Theo? Being saved from injury so he can be sold in a couple of weeks time or is he injured again already? Pity Giroud couldn't save us again today - Gawd knows we someone in the squad to step up and do the business, anyone think one of our existing strikers will do it?
Kiwi, should we give up all hope for this season?

Even after the United defeat, we were ahead of Spurs in the standing. The next 2 games were against struggling teams. Yet, we find ourselves a point behind Spurs after those 2 "easier" games. Yet, Wenger still speaks as if we can simply turn our magic on. He speaks as if this team, and his tactical genius (not) will come good soon. Let's mark his words. He said to see how we stand after January. During this time, we play Newcastle, Liverpool, Palace, WBA, Chelsea, Bournemouth and Swansea.

Wake up Wenger, you are the problem.

Gidday Hoxton ... while I'd say it's not quite "Abandon all hope , ye who enter the Emirates " it isn't too far off ; because it just isn't in our playbook to attack at pace .

Definetly time to modernise the en suite , build the new birchbark kayak , carve a totem pole or whatever the hell else you boys do to pass the time in the frozen tundra .

Probably a piece of split bamboo with a pot mitt wedged in the slot in an electric drill would be pay dividends .

Wenger exacerbates this by talking about it. For a man who is meant to be a deep thinker wenger is doing more harm than good with his psychological assessments.
We are a team that relies so much on being confident but any dent to our confidence seems to take us back to zero and we need a number of games to build any kind of confidence back.

Where are the players in our team who actually dribble at and beat a man with pace and skill?
I’m so bored with the wenger type of player.

The problem I have with this type of tripe is that it exposes his inconsistencies. If we did play well against Utd ( I think we did) then there would be no hangover.

But in reality what this shows is that having lost a game we should not have lost, the the following results show our mental vulnerabilities.

The last time I saw a team play long square passes across the defence was Brazil 1982 against Italy. We are now f.... doing it regularly.

In his press conference he said if we had played last Saturday instead of Sunday & they had done the opposite the result last night would have been different. If we had played last Saturday he would have been complaining about fatigue after the Bate game. He starting to sound like Trump as he just states things without actually thinking about what he is saying.

Just one for Hoy to complain about. 19 points behind the leader and 18 points in front of the bottom team. We are a mid table team.

If I’m an Arsenal fan I’m sitting there and asking the question “where is the progress over the last few years?” said Ferdinand. ‘Tell me where the progress is with this side because that’s what you look for year in and year out. You look for progression within a football club, within a team [and] I don’t see it. ‘I see players going backwards. I don’t see players improving dramatically under this regime and that is the worrying part for me. ‘And when you look at this Arsenal team and the history of Arsenal, even Arsene Wenger’s early tenure at the club it was about trophies, it was about winning and competing for titles, for leagues. They are not doing that now. They are fighting for one or two positions in the Champions League.

Ferdinand joins the noisy minority.

Big rumours of Özil to United for £300k a week which would be fine with me.

Very disappointing that Hernandez ball didn't cross the line and we'll have to wait until after we convincingly thrash Newcastle with assists from Özil and goals from Sanchez for a return to normal service. Can't see our defence having any problems at all with Salah in the following game...

I've a feeling it's all about to collapse - I think, to use the vernacular, he's lost the dressing room, but it's the players' professional prides (yes I do think they care) is what's keeping things going.

There is no doubt in my mind that a change would be as good as a rest, for both club and Wenger.
