I understand people's frustration with the familiar, but consistency as a club and as a team is incredibly hard to achieve, even if we have fallen short of our targets, as is evidenced by the fact only 3 other teams have been in the Champions' League as often as us in my time here, and those are 3 of the four richest and strongest clubs in the world'.

That would be better...this stuff about values while fluttering his eyelashes at Kroenke is a little off. Preparing the narrative in case he doesn't stay.
You are marking him like a schoolteacher!! Shouldn't he be credited for finally being open about his own feelings over this whole issue. After all, it has been going on all season and has got very personal, as we know only too well from this little forum. That he thinks its a 'disgrace' seems to me a mild comment in return for what has been coming his way. Well said Arsene!

I think losing 5-1 three times in a row to the same team as a 'disgrace' as well. Shouldn't a coach deal with that? Instead of criticising the supporters he'd be better off using his energy to improve the age old failings, of which we're all very familiar.
By the way, I want us to win today.

I don't think he was criticising the supporters, just the ones who have gone way beyond reasonable. That you now want us to win will make all the difference. Chelsea may as well not go to Wembley.

I KNOW RIGHT.

On this little forum alone I have seen him called stubborn, tight, deluded and even recently a prat.

This is the kind of vitriol that must make you, doyen of the Old Kent Road that you are, feel sick to your very stomach. I mean there is room for criticism (yeah that old canard again) but calling a man tactically inept is...well...it's thoroughly un-Arsenal.

Do, for *%^@ sake, get over yourself and your puffa-crush, you pious old plastic.

I enjoyed his interview actually, thoroughly hope we beat Chelsea (and and am fairly sure I have taken my lack of football knowledge to many more finals - certainly in the last two decades - than you).

Including 2005 which I hope you noticed Arsene laughed at and described as the final we did not deserve to win. Went right up in my estimation after that...

It is interesting how much better Wenger is in a one-to-one interview than in a press conference. He seemed very much more relaxed and able to deploy those qualities like humour and calm. Even his anger was better delivered and seemed less truculent.

Isn't Alex Scott of the Arsenal Ladies a natural behind the camera by the way? Bubbling with charm.

That's a bit misleading, since I have always wanted us to win. I just think the team needs a new coach.

Misleading is a fairly generous description of it.

In any case, I have always seen you as one of the more positive supporters until very recently.

I have been supportive of Wenger until this season. The defeat and performance in Munich made me feel physically sick and at that moment I'd had enough. Of Wenger, not Arsenal.

The BBC website quoting Martin Keown, "his life is dependent on staying in management. I cannot believe that after all he has achieved over the last 12 years that the fans are against him". Too right Martin - two FA cups, countless FP trophies, record defeats like 8-2 in Manchester and 15-3 over three games to Munich, fooling Walcott into staying for a piffling 140k a week, longest ever league run without beating Spurs, achieving fifth place after spending a mere 100 million or so... It's downright astonishing that fans want a change.

Its a given Chelsea will man mark Sanchez. I hope Wenger anticipates that but seeing as though tactics isn't in his vocabulary, I am concerned.

Very good play by Arsenal. I like the fluidity. Captain Per is playing very well.

One of my pet peeves is when our midfield or any player passes back to the man behind him needlessly. The play should go forward and they slow it down with a backpass. Arrgghhhh.....okay rant over.

Brilliant first half but we really ought to have put this game to bed and there is the horrible feeling we will regret not doing so, especially as Chelsea looked to be getting their act together in the last ten mins of the half.

Put it this way, we couldn't have played much better and Chelsea couldn't have played much worse but there is only one goal in it.

Alexis superb, Welbeck incredible work ethic, Özil finding some rythym
.
Xhaka and Rambo great on the ball but a bit slow without it.

Ox is looking a little uncomfortable defensively.

Great performance, best this season in some ways. Like many I fear that it might be different Chelsea next half and we are very unfortunate not to have at least a second. But at least it has been a performance which mean we can be proud of them and who knows...

...also defence doing well especially Mertesacker but I really worry that we're getting exposed on our left flank by Moses. Chapeau for Ramsey who has done some fine defensive work so far.

Agree, Ox doesn't look at all comfortable defensively.

That's a good performance. Welbeck's work rate makes such a difference. Özil, Ramsey, Alexis and Mertesacker all playing very well. We need to take our chances and not do antrying daft at the back.

Fans have been great inside Wembley. Noisy as hell. Brilliant start. Woodwork twice and off the line twice has. W scared though. Feels like Liverpool in 01..

Ramsey is finding his rich vein of form lately. Perhaps the new formation suits him better.

Every Arsenal player is playing at least a notch higher in the final. Is this the new Arsenal? I like the new found energy in the team. Everyone wants be an "Alexis" today. Keep ut up !
