Rainer Werner Fassbinder's favourite footballer was Helmuth Haller.

Interesting Haller facts.

He nicked the match ball that belonged to Hurst after the '66 final and then returned it 30 years later.

At club level he played for the Old Lady which will interest Bernard and Hoy no doubt.

He struggled with his weight (as did Fassbinder).

After he retired he did not die (well not immediately at least) but coached minor amateur clubs and opened a fashion shop.

Fassbinder's second favourite was Paul Breitner with Garrincha third.

So Haller played in order to give his wife a good living (showing my knowledge of cockney rhyming slang with 'Old Lady' there).

Can understand his liking for Paul Breitner, as he is my favourite ever player who never played for Arsenal.

Yeah Breitner was great although a bit of a poseur with his politics.

Which part is cockney rhyming slang?

Obviously Jacob Steinberg's opinion is worthless because he has never been a mediocre centre-back.

His actual career gets overlooked, I mean he was an absolutely nothing player.

I've been looking on you tube and can't find a single video of him playing the game.

To put it in perpestive whilst searching I managed to find a clip of a chimpanzee in full kit playing and nutmegging a defender to the music of Jason Derulo but nothing of arsene.

I'll leave in about an hour, but I'm not that confident either. Having said that, I remain to be convinced about how important the game actually might be. I'm expecting Wenger to stay whatever the result. If Arsenal win I'll still have big doubts about getting into the top four. If Tottenham win I won't expect them to catch or overtake Chelsea.

To do an American here I can also see a draw or us getting a good hiding. So I'm going out on a limb and predicting:

a) a win

b) a draw

c) a loss

But I think a is still perfectly possible.

Have to admit I"m massively looking forward to it out of curiosity as much as anything. That's a funny parodox - maybe this whole thing has been a cunning plan by Arsene to rekindle interest after boring us for so long.

I can also see a sending off with the likeliest culprits being Xhaka, Wanyama, Koscielny...

They're always cross down there. So would I be if I had to live in such a pestilential hellhole.

Decent lunch first though. Roast beef and a cheeky Cote du Rhine. Or two.

Rhone - don't get excited Bernard

How do Chelsea keep their players fit? Also 3 excellent subs. Were they to lose 3 or 4 players they'd be struggling too.

I'm nursing a quite agreeable hangover caused by pisco sours and a 1993 Pomerol (get excited, Bernard, it was excellent). Perfect for a bank holiday weekend and a NLD on the telly where the actual result is less important to me than usual...

Arsene should sign the chimp up immediately - it can do more than Walcott already. Although he'd probably coach the nutmegging out of it's repertoire.

Remind me again, why are some willing to give Sanchez £300000 a week?

This is a game where Walcott would thrive. Bring him on for Gibbs and switch him with Özil who's sleeping on the other wing..........................

Nah, the chimp should take over as manager. He's evidently "been in the game" and would in all probability be an improvement on the dinosaur currently in charge.

Yup. Squeak a win today and we are suddenly in pole position for 4th (or even the heady territory of 3rd!) and Spurs are feeling that familiar loose sensation in their guts.

This is poor stuff. Giroud is abysmal and should be hooked and dropped from the squad for that feigning injury nonsense which nearly ended with Eriksen scoring. Özil is coasting. Xhaka doing nothing. Ramsey and Gibbs are the pick of them with Sanchez at least worrying Tottenham.

Pretty mixed performance really.

I think we have a few too many one paced players......Giroud, Xhaka, Ramsey........and one complete passenger in Özil.

We need more pace up top, a CF who can run the channels, run behind the totts defence and turn them.

Our central midfield is particularly one-paced when we have to defend.

I'd take Giroud off and put Welbeck on. Put Bellerin in for Ox and push Ox wide right. Sub Özil.

Clearly our options are limited but Özil is such a passenger defensively and it is exposed when he plays that wide role, especially as Ox is new to the wingback role and needs some protection at times.

Bring Welbeck on. Giroud is a waste of space. Slow and nothing happens through him.

3rd b%*&s%*^ penalty of the day to go against Arsenal interests. Another blatant dive today, and another phantom pen for spurs this season. Absolute joke of a decision.
