Lucas Perez still can't get a start.

Čech, Monreal, bellerin, Mustafi, Kos, coq, Xhaka, Iwobi, ox, welbeck, giroud

I don't get Sanchez on the bench. What's going on?

Unless he's carrying an injury? We've had a lot of time off recently so he doesn't need a rest.

Wenger's decisions more and more bizarre each week, he makes a rod for his won back as now any result except a win for arsenal means he faces questions about why he didn't start our best player against a big rival for top 4

I agree, unless Alexis is carrying a slight injury or under the weather then it ranks as one of the most extraordinary decisions that Wenger has made in his Arsenal tenure. Alexis is our best player by a country mile.

No problem with Welbeck playing, I think he should be, but surely Alexis should take Iwobi's place if fit.

Bizarre.

Ok so I'll stick up for arsene

If he's not signing and him and his agent are acting up then drop him. He's off anyway

*%^@ Sanchez, that doesn't happen for no reason

Wenger is mad.

Also, Iwobi has really struggled lately. I dont know how he has kept his place.

There must be something more to it than meets the eye so perhaps your theory is correct and something has happened behind the scenes that makes Wenger feel he has little alternative but to drop him.

It's a massive call.

Nope. Even if Sanchez is leaving, he will still put in the effort. Unless he is injured, it's daft.

Could just be that AW's grown a pair and has decided to put Sanchez back on the bench he used to sit on before he joined us.

Better than having him on the pitch affecting the moral of the rest of the team. It also sends a message to the rest of the team, including Özil, not to mess with him even if he has only a few months left at the Arsenal.

If he is behaving like a *%^@, disrespecting the club then I'd rather he's dropped.

We'd never do this without a reason

Maybe he's lost the dressing room Jose Mourinho style now, could be in for a bumpy ride until May...

I agree with this, As much as I like Alexis there must be a very good disciplinary reason behind this decision because it makes little sense tactically.

Something has clearly gone on. Although if it was that bad I wouldn't have expected to see him on the bench.

Early goal for Liverpool so utterly predictable

It was always going to happen, the fast start from Liverpool at a field is what they do. The defending for that goal was awful

Mustafi (I think) went for a header he shouldn't have and missed, created the holes in our defence. Still should have been defended better, including by Čech

Alexis rested for the Bayern return match. Wenger believe he can score 4 goals to get us through.

I can't stand the way we defend corners, all 11 men are goalside of the penalty spot, there is no set up to counter attack, no one waiting on the edge of the box to complete the clearance

Our fullbacks are easily pulled out of their positions most times. Gaps easily opens up for a free man at the wings. Something about the way our defence is set up is the fundamental problem.

It's not clear what the game plan is. It's a 4-5-1 but without any pressure on the Liverpool players in possession. We've got giroud up top and so we go more direct but then don't have players buzzing around him for the second ball.

That's 3 corners for us that haven't got above 6ft, all cut out by the first man. We won't get many chances today so when we have a free one to put the ball in the box we have to make the most of it, Liverpool aren't a tall team

Yet again there is zero zip or tempo to our play, Liverpool just feeding off our lacksidasical attitude by pressing all over the pitch. They are miles better than us by just wanting it more

Clear dive by coutinho no yellow. Then coq straight in the book for a shirt pull. Coq has got caught being too slow at least 4-5 times

Stat from the TV saying Xhaka, coq and Kos have lost the ball 25 times between them.

Far too often we just don't turn up for these away games against big teams

2-0

Hardly a surprise when you leave someone totally unmarked in your penalty area.

2-0. Feels like another hammering on the way. Doesn't look as if we have it in us to respond.

There you go, why is Monreal is the middle instead of marking the free man? Our full backs come into the middle to defend too often, leaving a free man. Wenger, can' t you see this? It has been happening too often.
