As an aside, wonder why the referee allowed Chelsea to wear their home kit. Going by what I've seen in the past, some refs would deem the colors too close (although I wouldn't).

Fabregas starts. I'll be surprised if he plays out his contract. Perhaps his last season with them. Out of favor with both Mourinho and now Conte.

Being we didn't get West Ham away in the EFL Cup, how couldn't it be our first game there? West Ham only moved to the ground at the beginning of the season.

Leipzig, by the standards over there, are apparently the City and Chelsea of Germany. As a result they're now the most despised club in the country according to reports I've read and, as Bayern are the Manchester United of Germany, overtaking them in that regard is quite a feat. Even Babu said he wants Bayern to win the Bundesliga rather than Leipzig and in the past he's made his, I'll call it lack of affinity, with Bayern only too clear. Any non-Leipziig fan who thinks their story is wonderful is presumably either somewhat uninformed or also admires how City and Chelsea have won their trophies in the recent past.

They are despised because they are winning. They have a good manager and they promote youth to the team. Why should small teams never get a chance of winning things. Germans like the status quo and Leipzig and upending it. They are popular in the east where their teams have been hamstrung by the lack of finance available.

I think many people in Germany would be absolutely delighted to see them above Bayern if they weren't artificially funded. Also, Dresden fans, who I think you'll find are also from the east, apparently have a pathological hatred of them.

Chelsea really must hate Antony Taylor, the worst ref in the league. Missed the other incidents but saw the Luiz one which was a def yellow if not a red.

Back to Taylor wasn't he considered by some to be unfit to ref the derby because he was a United supporter?

Choked by an own goal he had to give. What next, a few red cards on both sides would be good.

City have fluffed a lot of chances. The de Bruyne miss highlights how far he has regressed.

Since when has de Bruyne regressed?

Well done Fabregas not to react.

Fabregas slapped him in the face first which was missed. That's why he reacted and Fabregas being the little *%^@ he is played the innocent.

Taylor was apalling today. Aguero's tackle was bad though.

The pass for Costa for CFC's 2nd! OMG!

That could have been a pass for Alexis.

Shhh...are you crazy? Mentioning Fabregas with a compliment on this site?

The bad news?
Chelsea aren't the same Chelsea we played. They've gone to a much higher level. They have to be deemed odds on favorite to win the title and the team to chase.
The good news?
Aguero and others out for our match. With a win today we move up...hopefully.

Eventually Pep will find his footing. City are still in it and will finish top 3, likely runner up.

Wenger won't take Fabregas back out of his own pride. Same reason he never took Anelka back. Some people he forgives (Sol, Henry, and some he won't.

The Arsenal were sadly knocked out of the 2012 Olympics in the first round, away at the Millenium Stadium in Edinburgh.

The Arsenal.com feed on my social media said it was our first time. Speaking of stadiums, why don't we bid to host a European final? Preferably the CL but at least the Europa cup.

I wonder if Swansea's American manager is the first one to manage in England much less the EPL? Hadn't realized former American national team manager was their manager. Relegation zone though so may not be around long.

F**king City, at least they are missing Aguero against us but if Wenger allows those chavs to win the title again I will begin to despise him, I know that may be harsh but we use to dominate Chelsea now they are making us look small time, embarrassing and our owners and manager need to step it up or bugger off.

This is a new one. It's Wenger's fault that Chelsea beat City.

Our owner isnt concern enough Wilts. Absentee owner. I would gladly pay 1k pounds to anyone's charity if they think the owner can name half the clubs in the EPL...and he does it.

Cesc gave him a love tap. Fernandinho over reacted. Push him once okay, but to keep going?

The will of Alexis again creates a goal for Arsenal. Özil had an easy tap in. Goal !!!!!

I like Gabriel. He may not be the best we have, but he certainly bust a gut for the team.

He does put in a good shift for the team, but just misses that ability to pass well

Goal aside, Özil seems more disinterested nowadays. Worrisome

Should be further ahead, lots of good football and good attacking situations created but only one goal to show for it. Let's hope it's not a game of two halves.
Mustafi playing very well.

Good performance ...but for wasteful final balls / no one attacking the goal .

Message to Oxo .... learn to pass and shoot
Message to Walcott ... do something ; you useless little diamond earinged %*&&****

We need another goal , they throw on Andy Carroll for the last thirty minutes I can't see 1-0 being enough .

I'm sure we wouldn't be losing only 1-0 if we were without our 3 best defenders.

And lazy as well. Alexis makes it difficult for their defence to play the ball out. Walcott makes it easy. He simply stands still for them.
