Liverpool aren't even playing that well. Salah is very quiet. TAA and Firminho not doing a whole lot either.

For all Liverpool’s dominance we defended ok I thought, can’t recall Leno making a save.

Liverpool are actually quite a long ball team. It isn’t the hoof it down the middle for a 50/50 header and pick up the scraps type of long ball but they go for a lot of long diagonals early and do go long in to their strikers but the balls aren’t dollied up for CB headers they are put in to the feet of the forwards and Mané and Salah are quite brilliant at holding off a taller and stronger CB and taking the ball down. It’s been a huge feature of Liverpool’s play over the last 3 years

Coming down squarely to winning the poxy Europa Cup to save our season.

The Premier League is an extra sideshow to keep us occupied between the games that really matter, in the Europa League. Not been a good first half but Tierney’s injury could end up the biggest negative about it. We often improve in the second half though and it’s hard to see how we can’t today, even without Tierney.

That's not "long-ball". It's accurate long passing.

They aren’t afraid of hitting speculative long balls forward as they know in Salah and Mané can work off scraps and mistakes in the heart of our defence. There are some lessons there.

Salah a constant pain in the arse

Just watch Lacazette's positioning. He is playing nothing like a centre forward. I don't blame him because he is clearly following instruction but it is horrible.

I agree dec’. ‘Long ball’ is a term with negative connotations. One associates it with the Wimbledon under Bassett style of play. Being able to play accurate long passes is a huge benefit.

I’m sorry Dani I know your pissed off but you’ve single handedly revived Elnenys career.

How anyone can say he’s been a success I don’t know.

So. An hour gone. If this was the first ever game of football that someone watched I suspect that it would be their last. Snooze fest.

Amazing. We’ve now had more shots on target than them.

There’s something about playing against Mané that makes Holding super aggressive.

Of course it isn’t the long ball you associate with Wimbledon back in the day but it certainly isn’t short passing football you associate with wenger or Guardiola.

Another header from a small guy. The cross is good but holding and chambers can see it for a long time

The minute he was subbed on for Liverpool I knew he was going to be a major problem for us.

Can’t see us getting back into this game at all. Love to be proved wrong.

Get Martinelli on now. Nothing to lose, give him a decent run out.

Shocker from the ref. How has he not seen that as a foul on Cédric, it’s borderline yellow and he let it go!

I'm going to see what's on HGTV. I actually do like the renovation programs.

I reckon that Arsenal could do with a renovation program.

Great ball by Fabinho. Watch again

Until we obtain better midfielders we will get nowhere. It’s a pointless activity analysing anything until we do. Our midfield simply can’t move the ball quickly or accurately enough at this level

Aubameyang playing anywhere but centre forward needs to end now.

I know we’ve been poor but we seem to have extracted liverpools best two performances of the season so far. Fabinho brilliant in midfield, how I’d have love to have played them when he was forced to be in defence

What is really depressing me is the feeling that we aren’t building towards a good 2021/2022 season. Just more of the same.
