Jesus' shots on goal could be seen as passes to the GK.

Good move there, Jesus couldn't quite get hold of the shot. And he goes close again. I can see Ødegaard and Martinelli coming on in the next 10 or so minutes.

If Jesus was a better finisher he'd be one of the top strikers in the world

Are those warm up kits or they are auditioning to be King Charles' new court jesters?

At times we seem like a training exercise where random players are thrown together and don't know the other movements. We've missed some golden chances though. Better finishing we'd be up a goal or two at least.

Important win. Good performance. Just need to be more ruthless in front of goal, scoreline should have been more emphatic.

Job done. The finishing wasn't there today, but from the start it only looked like one team was winning this one. Very close to winning the group now, a draw at PSV will do it.

Very good performance. There was some lovely build-up play throughout the game. Saka and Xhaka were superb.

Great win, should have been more as there was only one team in it.

Arteta justified in playing a strong team as this was almost a must win game to alleviate the pressure of the rest of the group and it should mean 2 fewer games in the first knock out round in the new year which will be vital.

Lovely goal from Xhaka as well, great technique on his weak foot.

Keep the momentum up, keep winning. 13 out of 14 now.

On to Southampton

This reverse fixture will be tricky. I'll take a draw right now.

Good win tonight to takk next week against PSV.

Also, Stevie G sacked. Really no surprise.

Ally McCoist advised him at the time he was thinking of taking the Villa job. If Gerrard wanted the Liverpool job post-Klopp, which he obviously did, he should have stayed at Rangers. He was doing a brilliant job there and had halted Celtic’s domination.

His next role should be at Everton, that would be something :42laughter:

Hi Bernard,
It did seem odd him leaving Rangers at the time for the Villa job. He was doing well there. Time will tell if Gerard is still an option for Liverpool at some point.

A good analysis of Tottenham’s season so far. It could almost have been written by Rich.

I thought Saka was amazing last night. His dribbling skills, balance and increasing physical strength are a sight to behold.

Ok, so the calibre of the opposition was not the very highest quality but he looked almost Messi-like at times.

Nketiah divides opinion but I thought he was excellent last night, his ablity to take the ball in tight spaces and dribble with pace were outstanding, he almost seems to glide across the ground. He just needs to add more of an end product to some of his work.

If Martinelli had done some of the things he did last night fans would be drooling.

Its a good piece :58big-emoticons:

If I were to offer the counter argument to it and my own thoughts Id say football pundits and more so fans can be very reactionary to the immediate. I recall once when Arsenal played maybe 4 draws in a row, then we won a tight game in the next game and the headline was 'Arsenal stretch their unbeaten run to 5", if that result swings the other way it would be "Arsenal winless in 5"

I think Spurs struggle with a plan B and their lack of creative players in midfield is astonishing really. Spurs have assembled a very deep squad but when you look at their bench there isn't anything to be scared of. Against Man U they bought on Moura, Skipp, Sanchez, Sessegnon and Spence. I know they're missing Richarlison and Kulesevski but that is a squad full of a whole lot of pretty average footballers for me.

Gerrard sacked.

To think there was a genuine debate at one point over who was the best between Arteta, Solksjaer, Lampard and Gerrard.

I understand it was probably at a time when Arteta's results weren't great but anyone could see the 'process' and progress.

Sadly I think ten Hag could be the right man for Man U, his ideas and coaching plan look very good, it is the quality of players holding him back right now. If they recruit well - which is always a big if with Man U they could easily be right back in the mix pretty quickly.

We must have watched different games because I thought he was shite.

There’s little to no actual output with him. Play him up top because he’s a penalty box striker or not at all.

1) Martinelli does those things you mention and more pretty much every game which is why he's become one of our best players.

2) I thought Nketiah was very lively and he can now run at players which is a good thing, but I still dont feel confident he will score enough goals to be Arsenal's back up striker.

I heard that there are going to be several weeks of hearings into whether Johnson mislead parliament. The journalist was saying that most of the people giving evidence will be for the prosecution. Its a bit of a gamble for the Tories knowing that the Prime Minister will be having crap headlines for weeks, and at worst he may be shown to have lied to the country.

Do you think it could get worse for the tories. Rock bottom is a fair way down .

I think ‘shite’ is a gross exaggeration. But I also thought the comments of socrates on Nketiah’s performance were equally over the top.

One of the things I've learned living in this part of the world: things can always get worse! The flipside of that is 'where there's life there's hope'.

Bit like supporting Arsenal.
