I read somewhere that it'll cost Arsenal a fortune to get rid of Wenger this summer. I'll be amazed if he isn't still stinking the place out next season.

Won't it be the £10m annual salary he's on? By most people's standards it's a fortune. But by Premier League standards it looks the bargain of the century. Worth every penny.

I agree Bernard. Trouble is I don't think Kroenke would.

The improvement of Ox at Liverpool is showing another way wenger is hurnting us. Talented youngsters who have not improved with arsenal, and who eventually get fed up and decide they need to leave because the club is stale. Other clubs then benefit from this player and we have to spend to replace a player we could have made brilliant.

Does anyone think players like Ramsey and Bellerin would improve drastically under a proper coach.

That's a good point Bromley. The concentration of Arsenal's huge fan base is on Wenger. Isn't that a good thing for Kroenke as it deflects blame from him? I honestly think if Stan wasn't the owner, Wenger wouldn't still be manager. For me it's Wenger - and Kroenke - out.

Most of all players will improve in teams coached by progressive managers, who set the team up to play to their strengths and against opponent's weaknesses. They will have a game plan, or two, for which each player knows and trust each other with. Wenger's football is stale, slow and boring. If I am Ramsey or Bellerin, I would leave as soon as a top team comes in for me. The latter has a higher chance of being coaxed by a top team. But better not go to an also-ran team.

Poor old Oxlade-Chamberlain would have been scratching his head because he didn’t know there were more games in the CL other than the round of 16 game to end the season. I am not sure if this tie is done & dusted because I can see City scoring 3 in the return match.

Arsenal are reported to have lined up a £10m deal for sleeve sponsorship next season ‘with an unnamed video service’

Weren’t we talking about needing £10m to get rid of Wenger? handy

I can see your point. After winning a first leg 3-0 I'd normally make the winners red hot favourites to progress. Liverpool could need an away goal. I do see Liverpool as favourites. Just not red hot.

Whilst they played extremely well, a lot went for Liverpool last night. As someone pointed out - Rich? - their first goal was slightly offside whilst Man City had a good goal chalked off. It could easily have finished 2-1.

Also, it shouldn't be forgotten that on the drive to the ground, the City bus was attacked and badly damaged by a barrage of missiles; that's hardly the best preparation for a match of that importance. You'd have to wonder at the state of mind of some of the City players.

Confirmation ....

Arsenal has signed a sleeve sponsorship deal with the US video streaming service Pornhub which will see the Premier League club promote the firm’s streaming service at the 60,000-seat Emirates stadium.

The deal, the value of which was undisclosed, is the first time a major global sporting team has officially partnered with a SVOD firm. It comes as an increasing number of regulators and business leaders express concern about the dangers of consumers spending too much time online viewing streaming services of this nature.

You should go for a quiet pint around Twickenham after a game mate :laughing7:

However yes I see your point more morons follow football for some reason. The rules to rugby must be too complex for them or something :laughing7:

Is this a wind up? People are always telling us there is style at Arsenal & a proper way to do things at Arsenal. I suppose DP is what happens to Arsenal fans at the moment so it is a neat fit ( no pun intended).

And, I've only seen this morning, that Sterling had a nailed on penalty not given from a foul by Robertson. I saw it and thought Robertson handballed it on the slide through as Sterling cut back inside but hadn't appreciated the foul at the time because so little was made of it.
That was at 3-0. Even 3-1 makes a huge difference to that tie

So Wenger thinks Arsenal have recovered from their crisis.

Dear God. Someone PLEASE put this delusional old fool out of his, and our, misery.

Probably an April fool's joke that has taken a few days to surface.

Google Porn Hub Arsenal and you will find nothing. Well, nothing of that nature anyway ...

No printed in a late edition of the New York Times apparently. Never heard of them. Good that the club is renegotiating our commercial deals to maximise our income

The deal at £10m is equal to Man City and ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea. The figures are minuscule in the grand scheme of things because our commercial operations languish £100m behind both Manchester clubs.

All academic unless this money is given to a new manager

I was in Windsor the other day and saw this! Turns out it was from a Mr. Porny, benefactor and former schoolmaster at Eton.

That £10m can be described as miniscule shows what a crock of *%^@ current football has become. In real life such a figure means something. At the top level we now have fantasy football, and that really does stink the place out. C'mon you Darts!!

Yes. What with the gangster state terrorism and the awful Russian racism, England should do the right thing and withdraw now. They'll be home soon enough anyway, so let the FA show some spine.

Čech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Xhaka, Wilshere, Ramsey, Özil, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette

subs: Macey, Holding, Kolasinac, Chambers, Elneny, Iwobi, Welbeck

Bit of a shame to see the youngsters dropped from the match day squad as soon as senior players are fit but can understand why Wenger does it for this game.

The contrast between the start of the Liverpool game v ours tonight is going to be huge.

Liverpool have a club, manager, players and fans all totally in sync and vibrant. Our fans, players, manager and club couldn't have a bigger wedge and severe apathy if they tried

Had a very similar goal ruled out only moments earlier for a marginal offside

Simply cannot learn.

Should be another for them. Lost the plot at the moment

Lacazette penalty 2-1.

Clear foul on Özil. Amazed there was no booking because Özil was through on the gk with a shot coming. Özil made sure he won the pen as he was running out of legs
