Brentford Captain lost the ball to Lacazette, and then pretended there was a foul. Shameful.

No goals again for Lacazette, but he's had a very good overall game. Involved in both goals and the chance for Ødegaard

Looked like a penalty again there, Pépé was brought down

Commentator on my steam “No no contact there”

See’s a replay with obvious contact

“Pépé’s lost his balance there.”

Shame about the clean sheet, but job done. Don't think anyone who watched this can claim Brentford deserved any points today, we were thoroughly dominant

Late consolation after a var check. Totally dominated that game and won despite Jon Moss’s best efforts to stop us. The shear number of penalty claims we had today suggests the law of averages means we should just get a 50/50 one. We never do

Well, we almost found a way to 'arsenal' up the game. What's up with Xhaka refusing the armband? Not a good sign.
Lacazette has shown he doesn't deserve an extension. Foregone anyway. We'll need a top striker and it won't be cheap.
Good win, any win is good. One game at a time.

Thought Pépé looked quote good when he came on. Not easy to get in the game when you're subbed on after 75 minutes, but he caused some problems for Brentford. We don't have the kind of match winners Tottenham and Man Utd have in players like Kane, Son, Fernandes, and Ronaldo, but if Saka, Smith-Rowe, Martinelli and Pépé can hit form at the same time we might achieve our targets by scoring by committee.

This skill from Ødegaard
Yes enjoyable, but a bit Fancy Dan for me. If the oppo get that ball unchallenged and score from having a man extra down that side of the pitch, then Ødegaard takes stick.

Aso, a special mention to our goalscorers today. Last season Smith-Rowe had 2 goals and 4 assists in the league, Saka had 5 goals and 3 assists. This season Smith-Rowe is already on 9 goals, and Saka has 7 goals and 4 asissts - and we have 15 games left to play. That's the kind of improvement you want to see in your young stars, where they not only look like they're playing better, but it's also reflected in the stat sheet.

Joint 4th with 3 games in hand,

“Sack Arteta and get potter in to steady the ship “

“Arteta has wasted all our money on overpriced English players etc etc”

Big result. We finished with 11 players on the pitch. Almost like cheating.

Who are those comments aimed at?

I can’t remember anyone of this forum banging that drum. Perhaps (certainly) in other forums but not here.

Joint 5th actually. Also there’s no such thing as joint positions, so 6th with 2 games in hand over 4th.

Just for, y’know, not misrepresenting the facts in the middle of your oddly misplaced smugness

You’re right and there’s so much difference in what you pointed out!

Well we are actually 6th not joint fourth. Not good enough. Arteta out!

Seriously, if City can do the right thing with the Spuds then it is looking like yet another fantastic day.

People can be extremely silly and unfair and reactive, especially when assisted by the twitter.

What it is with spurs seemingly always finding a way to trouble City. They have none of the ball, hardly any shots but somehow hang on and score their chances. Feels like it’s been this way for 4-5 years between them.

This is the kind of game Tottenham loves: Sit back with 9 men and hit it long for Kane and Son. They did the same against Liverpool and got a result, even if they were extremely lucky with a couple of big decisions from the ref in that one.

Kind of fascinating clash of styles and all that. Think the answer is good counters and lethal finishers. I love an actual good counter and Spurs can’t half spring some with Kane and Son. There’s no thought of anything else. Turn and go.
