Colombia are a disgrace.

England not above a bit of the dark arts either. One sympathises ... but they need to keep their heads and let Colombia self-destruct.

It seems every Colombian player is trying their utmost to get sent off. Is there a betting pool amongst them?

This is really reminding me of the old World Club Championships when the European Cup winners would have the misfortune to play the second leg away in South America. Gruesome games.

I wonder the mentality of the Colombian team. The only country to have a player assassinated in their history on return home and they had a player receive death threats earlier in this tournament. That’s a heavy kind of pressure.

It’s a game of two halves.

This half, I have mostly been drinking Cab Sauv* with my pasta supper. The old trout is away and despite the fact that I’m a (potentially) award winning chef, she leaves me *%^@*** pasta that takes 2 minutes to cook. In her defence, I *%^@*** love simple pasta dishes and I don’t do shopping. It was lovely.

First half I was mostly drinking whisky. It’s been a long day.

* Stave & Steel from Aldi at about £9 - remarkable value. May god preserve them.

Sour beer binge on my part. And a boatload of cigarettes and I don't even smoke. My bet for game of the tournament and it turned out to be a dud, I give up. At least I'll get to see Sweden in the semi finals.

Colombia upped their attacking game in the last 10 minutes. The equaliser was always coming.

They can play good football if they stop fouling their opponents.

Great header. The shot and save beforehand was incredible.

Fair enough - Colombia refused to go quietly. 1-0 and you're always vulnerable. Up to England to go out and win it in extra time.

I think it will be Whisky for extra time.

Colombia went nuts for 20 minutes. Just after I had been tempted in on them at 9/2 they give away a daft penalty.

Not much between the two teams over the 90. Extra time should be interesting.

.
What an awful advert for soccer , full of play acting , niggling fouls , lack of talent , time wasting ..... would be nice if both sides went out :laughing7:
Only the drama of the ocassion makes it reasonable viewing .

England have lost a bit of zip from their play, and are looking the more tired of the two sides at the moment. If they don't wake up quickly this might not even go to penalties.

This is going to pens.

Going back to a previous post, we have no craft in midfield. We have nobody who can spot or thread a pass.

I actually quite like this team but Jack would improve it.

Think there's one big chance left in the game.

Out on peno’s it is then. As is tradition. If it was Arsenal how much faith would you have in Ospina for a shoot out?

I was working on the assumption it was a Chateau Latour, which is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon (+10% Cabernet Franc + 10% Merlot). Then I reach the end of your post and see it was a bottle of cheap plonk from Aldi. Hmmm!!!

If those Colombians lose their heads like they did earlier this should be England's.
