The problem with the concept of red cards is that the extent of the punishment is so variable.

A red card early in the first half bears no resemblance to one in the 90th minute despite the offence being the same. They ruin games.

Loads of players would’ve got away with a booking on that one.

Xhaka's lack of speed will always be targeted by opposing teams. And his recklessness is well known. We need an upgrade in this position.

This is very difficult for me: I have to agree with TG - a red every time.

Certain players would have for sure, but I'd be screaming for a red if someone did that exact tackle on an Arsenal player in that position

'Last man' isn't anywhere in the rules, it is something you hear a lot but it isn't the rule, it is about whether the ref determines the foul to deny a clear goal scoring opportunity. Jota had controlled it past Xhaka and there was no covering defender between him and the GK

The covid thing really sticks in the throat for me. Liverpool lied that they had a load of false positives when they only had 4 actual covid cases. The chances of 3 false positives is 1 in 8 billion - and Liverpool claim they had about 10 of them so couldn't play. Now we're the one with covid, afcon and injury crisis and we're playing.
