Looking okay now - which is good.

Still no attempt at goal from us. Why are we so boring?

If either Arteta or Ancelotti were under any illusions about the job ahead that first half will have dispelled them.

We've shown some good spirit but little quality, nothing created for Aubameyang. First goal going to be massive here.

Never convinced by an Özil ‘injury’. I mean in matches he never gets anywhere near max effort or speed to ping a muscle and never goes anywhere near an opponent to get a knock. And we all know Arsenal basically do non contact sideways passing drills in training

Two good chances. More encouraging.

You're not wrong ; I've only seen the last ten minutes but heard the commentator say something similar .

There was a lot more quality in evidence in the Crystal Palace v Brighton game I watched recently .

2.43 am here I'll give the second half ten minutes and the fare stays the same I'm heading back to bed .

I don't have the same Betamax system you have ... I've got full replay options

Really? Has that reached New Zealand then?

Phew. VAR lets us off a possible handball penalty.

Looking like it's going to be the last game shown on MOTD tonight...you know, the boring 0-0 between two teams with nothing left to play for

Well a clean sheet would be a major step forward.

Not sure you can describe any aspect of this game as a major step forward

Anything that stops the lengthy remorseless downward spiral looks pretty good to me.

Surely Pépé was needed

What’s the problem with him

Really wishing that we’d got Zaha instead of him in the summer.

Yes that looks a bad decision

Pépé has talent but we just don’t seem to be getting it right with him.

That said we keep dropping him as soon as he turns in a decent performance

Sloppy from Chambers. And now he misses the next game.

I’m surprised they didn’t pick one of the ball boys

They could play all day and nobody would score

Terrible game, but a decent point and as LTG pointed out a very welcome clean sheet.

I actually think we played better than we had. Had Emery managed us, we'd have lost this match. I liked Emery but the fact is the players were unmotivated on the road.

We have lost all directness. We have one of best strikers in Europe and he gets no service. Big changes are needed obviously. Mikel has his work cut out for him. We are a steaming pile of mess football wise right now.

:laughing7: yes it's all about little positives at Arsenal these days .
...... and here's another ...thank God that game is over .

They could have played for the next twenty years and not scored .

Wouldn't be surprised if Mikel rings Pep tonight asking for his old job back .

At least Kiwi won’t have to try and work out the replay function.

I thought today's team selection and substitutions were odd.

Perhaps the team he put out was forced on him by injuries and suspensions but it was very young and inexperienced and I think, but for Everton suffering a little from their midweek exploits, it could have been a disaster today.

As it was we did ok, not great but the effort and desire was clearly there and we improved as the game went on.

I could not understand why Pépé didn't start and why Aubameyang was subbed unless he was nursing an injury of some kind.

I thought Martinelli struggled a bit after his early knock and perhaps him for Pépé was an obvious change to make.

We know now that Freddie is no where close to being ready to manage us. He needs a few more years of working under someone who knows what they are doing.
Early signs are that Mikel is going to shake things up. That's a good thing. It needs to be.
We didn't lose and kept a clean sheet. Those are pretty much the only two positives taken away from the game. We weren't scoring or keeping clean sheets so one of the two for now is a positive.

I'm a bit fearful we are going to see an announcement Martinelli is out for a certain amount of time. He seemed to be playing injured.

Martinelli should be MOM. He was energetically up and down the field. He made himself available to both the midfield and defence.
