If I hear the words 'European champions' and the way they carry on now , I don't want them to have an undefeated season ever. In fact I am hoping some how or other City catch them.

I think I’m right in saying we had twelve draws in that undefeated season but are still termed as Invincibles, so I agree with you Gaz.

My real test on Liverpool comes next week. They play Spurs at pool. Would I take a Spurs win. hmmmm. Need to have a real think about this.

Onwards to Sheffield U. Hard game and will test our credentials.

Edit, I’ve just read we haven’t won there since 91. Blimey it’s definately a bogey ground that’s why

Wonder how many games we’ve played there since 1991? Might be mistaken but I don’t recall Sheffield United being in the Premier League all that much.

Remember them having a good side in the early 70s with Tony Currie and Alan Woodward.

Just read that since 2006 we’ve played them 4 times there and not won once

From the BBC website today:

Arsenal have lost just three of their last 26 matches against Sheffield United in all competitions.
However, the Blades are unbeaten in their last four top-flight home games against Arsenal since a 2-0 loss in April 1991 (W1, D3).
The sides have not met in the league since 2006, but Arsenal have since won two League Cup ties since then, with an aggregate score of 9-0

Yes, the cherry blossoms are Japan. Much better than they used to be at rugby, beat both Ireland and Scotland getting to the quarter finals.

Ireland were dismal. It's some fall-off in performance. 12 months ago we were Grand Slam Champions and then went and beat New Zealand. Since then we've been walloped by England, Wales and New Zealand and lost to Japan.

Semi finals should be interesting, just hope we can make a contest of it, still remember Lomu running over us as if it was yesterday.

Willock in for Ceballos but the same team otherwise.
Tierney and Lacazette on the bench. No Özil or Bellerin in the squad.

Bit disappointed not to get the full backs back in the team after a 2 week break.

I think this was a game for Holding personally. I’ll be surprised if this is as easy as many think.

Big shirt tug on Sokratis in the box. Where is VAR?

Game has draw or loss written all over it so far. We need that first goal if there is going to be one.

Just not enough quality in the middle of the park,

Willock neat and tidy

Guendouzi provides energy

But there isn’t a playmaker or technician in that midfield. We miss creativity.

I’ve seen our players sent off for that type of foul that fleck did on Aubameyang

Don’t win the header and then leave a striker with 5 yards of clear space 3 yards out middle of the goal to poke in. Where is the organisation at the corner. Zonal marking or not you don’t leave a guy free in that position!

Saka booked for a dive. Dean so quick to book him, sometimes it can be no pen and no dive. So frustrating because we see certain players win those as pens all the time. Salah and Kane to name 2.

Mike Dean is now in full home mode. Why wasn’t the penalty given for the clear shirt pull on Sokratis? Is there a certain amount you are allowed to pull a shirt?

Honestly we have done nothing. Just nothing.

Double substitution at half time for me. Lacazette and Ceballos

We can never pin a team in from a corner. The attacking team should always win that 2nd ball from the initial clearance just through shear weight of numbers. We rarely do

I'd be lying if I said I didn't see us going down a goal down at some point. To be fair, a lot of clubs are going to drop points or lose there from how they play that pressing game.
Hopefully we will adjust and get something out of the game.

That Pépé miss has really hurt us. It's going to take a big performance to win from here and it's not looking promising at all.

Only player I have confidence in finding a creative final ball to create a goal is chambers.

What does that say about the state of our midfield.

On a slight positive note, and apart from the open goal miss, Pépé is showing glimpses of his potential.
