QE II an exemplary head of state and a woman of dignity and gravitas. She'll be missed.

Ash,
If I recall, Babu's 2nd team was Zurich after Arsenal. Wouldn't be surprised if he was at this game.

There is a Swiss Gooners flag in the crowd.

No doubt. Wouldn't go down well with Zurich Ultras. :angel8:

Good for Eddie. Workmanlike. Deserved.

Goal and an assist for Marquinhos. Impressive.

Yes, we are currently leading but at times our buildup seems repetitive, I almost always know where the ball is going to go. It feels like an opposition can see 20 minutes of film and develop a plan to stifle it.

Just read the news, sincere condolences. As I assume for most people, she's the only monarch I have ever known. In my mind, I always thought she'd still be the only one despite the impossibility of it.
Shocking news.

Yes, it would be nice to see us killing off more games when we are dominant. Still, can't complain really.

Take a train to Cork. I'll pick you up at the station and take you on a tour of Midleton distillery tomorrow

As I say, nice old lady but really?

2 weeks of Dad’s Army and Frank Spencer? Tosser lickspittle comment? Somber music on the radio, shite anodyne re-runs on the telly and any publicly organised expression of joy, fun or entertainment cancelled.

God bless Netflix and air travel. And booze.

Can’t complain too much about the second string getting an away win in our first European group game. The other match in the group was a draw which is usually good.

Nice to see Marquinhos and Nketiah get off the mark for the season. Marquinhos already looks like a find, looks robust enough already for senior football.

Mudryk, Shahktar Donetsk winger:

During an interview with CBS Sports, he was asked about Arsenal’s interest and admitted they are a “very good team” with a “very good coach” in Arteta.

“Shakhtar for me is my home,All my thoughts are only about Shakhtar.

“In winter we [will] see.

“I think every guy dreams about [playing in the] Premier League.

“Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach. I like the way they play.

“From my side, I can’t say no [to Arsenal], but a transfer is not only my decision.”

Marquinhos looked more physically robust than I was expecting. Appeared strong.

Arteta nominated for august manager of the month.
Jesus and Ødegaard nominated for player of the month.

Surely with 5 wins from 5 it should be pretty simple that Arteta wins it

Just waiting to see if any and all UK games are canceled this weekend now. Due to Queen's passing. It wouldn't surprise me if that happened.

Jonathan Pearce commentating on the West Ham game tonight thought it likely all sporting events will be cancelled this weekend

Well there will be no comedy on the BBC until the funeral at all apparently

It’s weird. Enforced misery and mourning.

Sounds great but my flight have been rescheduled for the morning now so will have to rain check that

There’s worse cities to be stuck in to be honest. Dublin is a modern really cool place but when your stuck on your own it’s all out the window

Dublin is good to visit but crazy expensive. I lived there from 1997 to 2002. Watched us win the league in 1998 in a pub in Rathmines with the future Mrs Dec. Great times.
