He’s past it

He’s lead footed

He doesn’t care since his new contract etc etc

Wonderful build up to the goal. Saka beautifully weighted assist. Glad Aubameyang buried that. Will boost his confidence.

Saka really is a superstar in the making, so consistent.

Always dangerous, no matter what the opposition it seems.

Benfica went into the game having to score, but hopefully they'll push forward a bit now. That back three is slow.

Yes, I can’t see how they think playing that high line is a good idea. It’s literally our only way to get our best goal scorer chances.

Silly foul by Ceballos, and a great free kick. Damn.

A foul won rather than a foul committed. A ‘modern era’ foul.

It was a brilliant strike though. You don’t save them.

Nerve wracking situation now, if they nick another it's trouble.

Right before half time. We don’t half concede goals at awful times in games.
This is where the away goal rule becomes a farce. We’re in a precarious position now.
Remember we were the seeded team and that meant home advantage for the second leg. If this goes to extra time they get an extra half hour to score away goals

We win the game we go through, and we should really win this game. That free kick goal is just tough luck, it can happen to anyone, but again we're not nearly dangerous enough going forward. Too reliant on Saka making things happen for us considering the attacking talent we have on the pitch.

Aubameyang sharp. But not as sharp as the lino unfortunately.

That's more like it. Great through ball from Ødegaard, Aubameyang just offside.

Turned out to be closer than it seemed in real time. Very marginal (a bit like his goal was).

This is where you’d like Arteta to make a change before 72-75minutes and where I’ve found his changes frustratingly late at times.

Get the feeling that Ode and Smith-Rowe both want to ply in the same space and areas.

I'd like to see Lacazette on the pitch soon. Would have to be for one of the midfielders.

Penalty, direct free kick and no a defensive howler- 3 goals and is that Benfica’s only 3 shots on goal over both legs.

We’ve beaten ourselves in this tie. As it always seems

Reminds me of the tie where George Graham’s team got a good result at Benicia and then cocked it up at home.

Mind you home then was Highbury rather than in Athens.

We are thick. In control of both games yet given away a penalty, a free kick and a crappy back pass

Was about to say the same thing. Just always glaring weak links in our play and seem to be exploited time and time again. Ceballos has had some good games this season but today he’s conceded the free kick and then put it on a plate for them. No wonder he got hooked.

I think I may have to turn the commentary off as its going to be very annoying being told how poor this result is

Well, he’s certainly reducing his transfer fee from Real Madrid. Not his greatest game that’s for sure.

And as I type that Tierney steps up!!!
