Get Zinny in the box. He’s not ideal for the left 8 by any means, but at the risk of breaking this drum, he’d offer more than what Haverts has been serving up so far.

I can only imagine Oliver was psyched to give another red to Arsenal. Doesn’t need much of an excuse but that was unfortunately the right decision.

Didn’t have to wait long. Of course this is a foul by Saka. 2 hands in the back of the defender and even the smallest nudge makes him miss time his header. It’s a foul, always was always will be - except last weekend

Dont know why Viera wanders off shaking his head playing the Mr Hard Done By . It was a snidey cheap shot .

..... and leading on from that I'm a bit disappointed with our response when we went down to 10 men .....we didn't try to create anything . Nelson and Nketiah were fresh ......... try and find a pass instead of lumping it forward to nobody .

Trossard is a Better option up there isn’t he.

He’s just a better all round football player, great first touch, can take free kicks and can score from range. Just look a better team

Ten hag continues just enough games to stop him getting the sack but never actually threatening to do anything with those wins

Fine margins in the EPL,Rich….We are having a good season and Man U are scraping along Yet……if
Garnacho wasn’t offside by a hairs breadth they’d be level on points with us

He plays as an attacking midfielder for Ukraine. I think it makes perfect sense to use him in midfield. He's a far more natural midfielder than he is a fullback. Fantastic goal today.

A good point. For all their struggles they sit 3 points off top 4.

Ten hag booked today which means he has to sit in the stands for Man U’s next prem match….but who is it the media say is the worst behaved manager on the touchline?

True. We could say the same about the title of we’d beaten Man City at home last year.

I think though when you look at their defeats, they’ve been bad and well deserved, then look at their wins, all by a single goal. A win v wolves was lucky because of the pen they should have conceded. They were 2-0 down at home to Forest. Scored very late in a drab game v fulham, scored 2 goals after the 90th minute to turn defeat in to a win v Brentford. The points they have got have been despite their performances I’d say.

With us, it feels like we’ve got what we deserved when we got or dropped points generally

I’d happily bet they won’t be just 3 points off top 4 at the end of the season. If Liverpool and Villa both win which you’d expect them to then they’re 7 points from 4th.

I also think goal difference gives a few tells- theirs is minus 3!! So when they win they squeak a win and when they lose they’re well beaten. That catches up with you. Also only faced 3 of the big 7 so far (lost them all) - we’ve faced 5 of the 6 other big 7 teams we can face)

They’ve got injuries and will surely improve when those players come back but there is nothing to suggest they are a top 4 team. I’d put them below 6th

So many injuries around. Clubs in injury crisis are apparently man u, Newcastle, Brighton, chelsea….but eve also got some bad ones, city had a number of players out early on, sheff Utd missed most of their first choice defence for long periods this season and now spurs have picked up a few.
Any reason why this season seems to have more than usual?

The only thing I’ll say about Oliver giving vieira a red is that he’s the same ref that decided to not send off kovacic.

He just seems so willing to send off our players that geezer. If the role was reversed I highly doubt any Burnley player would have walked

Yeah his style is all uncompromising - I shall not be moved, yet he seems to be like that for us but suddenly came over all Kum-by-yah when it was time to assess the kovacic foul.

I’ve heard it said it’s because 1) the games are much longer due to VAR and 2) the players get cold … or rather, warm down a bit….waiting for VAR checks
I read Postecoglou was all set to kick some balls on against Chelsea during a long delay …and do some warm up stuff they normally do pre match… but then the game started and a few seconds later Van de Ven sprinted and pulled a hammy

Also their goal should have been disallowed. Tommys got the guy all over him dragging him down. This “he just wanted it more” stuff is nonsense. 6 footers getting out muscled by midgets ffs *%^@ off

Really like the threat we have from set pieces - but it seems to be only really from corners not from free kicks put in the box.

The stats show we score the most goals from set pieces.

On our style of play it feels like Arteta has set us up for the champions league, and also might be thinking about the games we lost last year and set a style to make sure we don’t lose games that way this year….also I don’t think Arteta wants games like the Bournemouth 3-2 or Villa 4-2. For me there has to be a balance. If you go with a tighter game to have more control and less risk then you do leave yourself open to a freak mistake, ref decision or moment of brilliance to decide the game. Some games I think we still need to go much more risky and all out attack.

I don’t think any win after a champions league mid week can be sniffed at

Then compare that to this which was a goal disallowed for us

You're wrong as usual. Tommi had a fistful of the Burnley players shirt and our goalie and defence let us down.

My heart bleeds for them and their injury problems. Everyone will use injuries as mitigation but I don’t remember us ever reviving much sympathy when we had those seasons of endless injuries.

Newcastle also proving my earlier point about playing midweek European games, particularly when you come back and play a team who has had a full weeks rest away from home. You just have to take any win because you’re not going to be 100% on it. We have been lucky that the game after each of our 6 CL games has been a home game.
