We're getting nothing from this game.

Which is exactly what we deserve.

The international break has killed our momentum.

Lokonga on. Partey has done his thigh.

Just a horror show

That is a penalty that we would just not get - no doubt in my mind. How many times have Saka and Pépé been tripped like that?

Basically that’s it. And how we have to see it.

Slight worry at the back of my mind that we’re not going to make this run in now. Tierney and Partey are irreplaceable in this team. Albeit Tavares will be better with a run of games.

Top 4 is going to be incredibly tough. We don't have the necessary squad depth.

It was the injury that caused him to lose the ball even before he tried to give chase.

This game could kill our season.
Tierney likely out for the season
Tomiyasu still out
gabriel with a shocker
partey with a shocker and now injured
Ødegaard with a shocker and gives away a pen
poor passing, poor touches, mistakes all over the pitch

How on earth is that not a foul on Saka - Clyne is just on the floor and rugby tackles him down

Unbelievable. Even when the gk spills one we can;t smash it home as they scramble it off the line somehow - not our night. Smash it anywhere else and its a certain goal

That's what queries me. Might this be the game that ruins our season.

The push on Saka is a free kick that gets given anywhere else on the pitch. I know that a lot of refs duck out of those decisions not just for us - but it has to be a foul. He's nowhere near the ball and just pushes Saka over

Sad part is that if we were to lose top 4 because of a lack of squad depth, it's on the club. Huge gamble to thin the squad out in January the way we did.

If we can get Tomiyasu back for the next game then I think we play Cédric at left back. Everyone has been poor today but we need to keep as many of our best 11 in their best positions

Nketiah hits the bar - add that to the list of frustrations. The perfect storm for us tonight

Such a shame. I’d have taken europa at the beginning of the season but as Champions league looked possible it suddenly seemed vital for this team to develop, to secure Saka’s future and bring in top quality we need, and the club to take the next step. Looks like a blow to that and will it just check the momentum the club is building?

This is classic young team btw. Young skilful player? Don’t play him intimidate him.

I was hugely fearful about tonight. It just had the recipe for a really tough night and one we'd struggle with if we didn't start well.

And they'll lose more games before the season is over. Everything feels really hopeless at the moment, but with a little bit of perspective we're obviously very much in the running for 4th place. Not as if our rivals for 4th are perfect teams in any way.

Yep, perspective is key and we can;t have a complete meltdown. Our points per game since Conte took over is better than Spurs.

Put this down to a shocker and put it right v brighton and see if Spurs can beat Villa away as we did

You’re right of course but it’s the absolutely, without exaggeration, threadbare squad that is giving me enormous pause.

Said last week I didn’t consider top 4 was in our hands at all as our squad is minuscule.

I haven’t changed that thought.

Games coming up missing Partey and Tierney. Our first 11 is great but back up of lokonga and Tavares is disaster for a club of our size. When we miss a key player it unbalances our whole side so players like Gabriel and partey are off balance trying to cover others.

It is strange to hear the comms say Palace have been largley untroubled. I get that we've mostly troubled them once we were 2-0 down, but on good chances I'd say the game is pretty level. Other than their 3 goals and a free kick they haven't tested Ramsdale. We've had 2 really poor misses from Emile Smith Rowe and Ødegaard and hit the bar from Nketiah.

Deservedly beaten but we've beaten ourselves with 3 poor mistakes (and poor finishing)
1) not defending a set piece
2) gabriel's attempt to cut out a pass he couldn't
3) giving away a pen

On the basis of Bern’s assessment (with which I don’t disagree), that’s a point dropped.

Fair enough.

Manager of the Month eh? Who’d have guessed this result?

It feels like top 4 just left the building tonight.

I think this is possibly the worst performance of Arteta's reign.

No idea why he put Martinelli at right wingback.

If we score 1st away from home I'm confident - it seems like it adds focus. If we conceded first I'm almost certain we'll lose apart from if we're maybe playing the worst 3 teams in the league. It seems to have been that way for a while

Not by some distance. Pen aside we did pretty well in the second half contrast this to Brentford, city or Everton where we didn’t really play at all.

Close - but thinking back to some of those games at the start of last season - urgh. Burnley at home 1-0?

Poor old Tavares, subbed twice at 45 mins, his confidence must be shot to pieces.

Mathematically it is still in our hands. Win all of our games and no other side can stop us.

It’s just that the winning bit is going to be somewhat tricky.

In the context of what was at stake, and what was required tonight it feels like the worst to me.

Shades of the latter Wenger days when teams with a bit of physicality and desire could roll us over away from home.

Partey was terrible. His performance had nothing to do with Tavares. Vieira was very astute in putting Gallagher on him. Completely compromised ,our build-up play. The fact that Ødegaard had one of his worst ever games for us, didn't help.

Yeah sure about that ? I just find it a coincidence that when we have to bring in a player who probably isn’t good enough for the *%^@*** championship the other players like Gabriel and Partey have their worst games in ages whilst being superb recently.
