They were tremendous. Lots went against them today and they kept on playing. Modric is a fantastic player.

I agree, Croatia should be proud of their World Cup. But ultimately France were the best side in the tournament and deserved their win. An exciting final that was a fitting end to a really entertaining event.

No more 3 goals have ever been scored in a WC final I think. No team has ever scored twice and lost obviously. This match broke a few records. I predicted 3-1 France before the game but have to hand it to the Croats. They fought and hopefully after it all settles in over time they will see they have nothing to be ashamed of and have every right to be proud.

Croatia were a bit careless at in the period before Mbape scored, but otherwise, it was a case of very very lucky French. It seemed like every time that had a shot (or not!) it flew in.

The Coatian keeper clearly had his lead boots on. Perhaps he planning a diving holiday and put on the wrong pair.

The Croatian passing and pressing was great to watch, so I'm glad it didn't end 4-1.

Yeah. Its been a great WC but mostly not because of the French.

I feel for Croatia. I started off wanting France to win but by halftime my fickle allegience had switched to Croatia who were playing really well. Nothing went for them today, Lloris clanger aside, but they battled on a deserved better.

I wanted Croatia to win but would have been happy with France winning it. As it turned out, Croatia played some very good stuff and France were very lucky. I hope Deschamps steps down and France get a manager who will really let these players loose.

Pleased in the end France one. Nobody’s favourite team outside France really but they provided some good games and moments and beat good opposition. Croatia just not very likeable, ground out results, and Lovren is an almighty wanker.

Modric will be nearly 35 at the next Euros. My guess is even that will be beyond him with regards maintaining the same level.

I agree with you on this. In my view France easily have the best national anthem. There is another one I don't mind, but can't recall whose it is. Think it was a country not in the World Cup. USA perhaps? The British and German ones are both awful. I've tried to like the German one but just can't.
