Agreed.

We’re not as good as we either think, or perhaps more accurately, hope we are.

The league table doesn’t lie.

Here comes Nelson. He must be wondering why it took so long. He can’t do any worse than what has been displayed so far (can he?).

About as bad as it gets for us.

If Wolves score again to win 1-3 I think we’ll be 15th, so have five teams below us.

Would rather see us lose having given some of the youngsters a chance to impress and gain experience than waste more money on wasters like Willian

We concentrate our attack in wide areas so much. It is strange because we don't actually cross the ball that much or have a decent target or at least flood the box - so I can't see what the plan to score goals is by playing wide so much? Going wide is the easy option for footballers without good enough technical ability because there is more time and space out wide

When I posted that I was thinking of the entirety of when I’ve supported us since 1963.

I find it very hard from the limited television perspective to work out what our overall game plan is. And this has been true for quite a few games now.

I’m sorry folks this is now a full blown crisis. Arteta needs to get midfielders in on loan in January otherwise mark my words this can plumb any depth. This can go anywhere, do not underestimate how far we can fall. This could get really bad.

We finished 17th in 1976, that was the worst season since I started supporting The Arsenal in 1970

I'm sure plenty of fans want someone to 'take a chance' try to make something happen - the problem with the ability of the players if I don't think they are skillful enough for any risk they take to actually pay off, and the downside is by taking that risk it leaves us vulnerable. We feel like a team who is in constant fear of conceding a goal so daren't try anything too flashy or risky to score a goal. So we're in this constant flux of dullness and calamity

But not another Willian type looking for easy money to pay for steak tasting trips to Dubai

I'm sure there will be plenty of fans on line calling for Özil. But really, Özil would be on the total periphery of this game. Wolves midfield and defence would totally bully him

Thankfully/Hopefully there really are 3 teams worse than us in this league

If you look through the squad and try to imagine what a good Arsenal side in the future looks like and you're only really taking a handful of players to build around. Gabriel, Partey, Saka.

There are others like Martinelli - we've seen very little of him really. Tierney I like but he's been 2nd best against a lot of the best wingers in the league. Saliba we hope, but all that hope is based on his price tag, if he was signed for £2m none of us would be banking on him for the future. Leno is ok but not in the top 5 GKs in the league.

Beyond that we are massively struggling

Arteta came in and wanted to sort the defence out. I could see the logic in that. But we lack energy further up the pitch. I still think we’d be better off with Guendouzi because energy in midfield is one of the things he does provide.

It's like the team has a collective psyche and its just cracked over the beginning of this season, there was a vulnerability which is likely projected by Arteta as a novice. It turned for me on the Leicester game. Oh great here comes Lacazette, so ceballos on his own in there?

Seems Willian spotted a nice cushy, highly paid retirement gig. Aubameyang too maybe. Doubt Torreira, Guendouzi, Özil, Ramsey... would be doing any worse than this lot. Time to start holding Arteta to the same standards as Wenger and Emery.

So Arteta is a novice manager but a great tactician.

And so he was when he arrived. He seems to be suffering the decline that we see in many players that we bring it. It’s like there’s a malaise over the club.

If we stay up I'll start next season, you've got to give him more time than any other manager, otherwise what was the point of giving him the chance? Literally his first job and his first full season.

8 attempts on target this half, but zero on target.

Fortunately there are a few really weak times in the league so I doubt we are in any danger of relegation.

If we have a set of players who are clearly not good enough so have to go, but also have very little transfer value due to poor performances and high wages then you are stuck selling for low price and trying to replace them with hardly any transfer budget. So what you're asking for is a miracle!

The pressure is probably going to build on Arteta quite quickly. Unless a miracle happens by the end of this game we’ll probably be out of contention for a European place, even the Europa League let alone the Champions League, unless we win a cup. It’s not even bloody December yet. That’s not just disappointing. It’s a poor reflection on players, coaches, managers and the owner.

Yep, Fulham, West Brom, Sheff Utd, Burnley all look poor. But at the moment we're in that next group - we're with Palace, brighton, west ham, newcastle......teams like Wolves, Leeds, Villa, Everton, Leicester, Southampton all ahead of us now

Dreadful. Losing at half time but not a single shot on target in the second half.

Our crossing is terrible. Can’t just be down to ability; there must be a massive confidence factor here.

Can Arteta do anything about it?
