I can see the red card, but how is it a penalty when Bamford was the one who fouled Gabriel?

Justice done. Gabriel needs to not get sucked in, but that would've been a ridiculous penalty.

Gabriel was lucky there. He clearly kicked out.

That’s a bit strange. A kick out is violent conduct so whatever else happens on the pitch is irrespective.

Perhaps the ref gave the red card for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity rather than violent conduct - so then he can cancel the red because of the earlier foul.

Someone needs to get hold of Gabriel - if you’re going to win things you simply cannot have that level of indiscipline!

Big win

Totally undeserved and got lucky

Gabriel needs to look at his own performances. If it comes it’s coming from him right and I say that liking him as a player.

The players are presumably young and resilient and able avoid deep psychological scars from this sort of thing, but there is no way I am going to last the season if we do that too often. I don't even feel relieved. Just stunned.

Wow. That was an eventful match. Excruciating second half (plus 9 minutes). Looks like the Thursday’s efforts took their toll.

Still. All’s well that ends well. 3 more points and a ridiculous wins total so far.

Goodness, the media are going to get absolutely stuck in to us after that win, in a way that no other top side would get. I guarantee when you read or watch everything that’s said after this game you’ll barely hear any mention of Arsenal actually winning the game. As a minimum it needs to be the final say on the match, ie “but Arsenal found a way to win yet again under immense pressure, we question their mental fortitude but that surely answers it”

I think the point Arteta will be ramming home is not winning any of our duels in the second half. Partey and Xhaka didn’t get hold of the midfield and Leeds had all the fight and all the ball.

Shocking 2nd half performance.
So lucky to get that win.
Gabriel is becoming a liability at times..
What on earth was he thinking.
Don't *%^@*** get involved ffs.
That kick out at Bamford nearly *%^@*** cost us with a red and another penalty.
That would have been a heart wrenching pill to swallow in last 2 minutes of injury time.
Thank God it got overturned.
He really doesn't need to get into that situation.
You get pushed then stay down!!!
Nearly cost us 2 points.
Arteta needs to have a word with him.
Fantastic goal from Saka.
How did he score from that angle. Incredible.
Massive massive 3 points.
Yes!!!!!

This was the offside in the build up to the award of Leeds first penalty.
Firstly how on earth has the linesman not made that call in real time it’s so easy.
Someone may remember better than me but I think there was a penalty we were given in a home game with Everton, soft foul on Ceballos, when they cancelled the penalty because of an offside that was a long long time before the penalty.
I know with offsides they look at phases of play but I wonder if this will get a mention in the analysis?

We looked tired today. This is why we desperately need some reinforcements in January. Emile Smith Rowe and Elneny will be back after the World Cup but another top level CM is needed and another wide attacker.

I watch Bruno Guimaraes at Newcastle and think he’d just be perfect for us, one of the finest CM in the league and such a shame we didn’t really push for him when we were linked

For the first time in the club’s 136-year history, Arsenal have won 9 of their opening 10 games of a top-flight league season:

WWWWWLWWWW

… reminder people here wanted the manager sacked last year because he didn’t understand attacking football. :58big-emoticons:

Seeing the way Leeds started, the 2nd half was always going to be difficult. The squad wanted to defend the lead and go home as soon as possible. Leeds made us work hard for 96 minutes. Credit to them. They can feel unlucky they didn't get something out of the game.

This would have definitely been a loss a year ago. Arteta needs to have a talk with Gabriel about his temper.

Even though the final stats showed us having more posesssion I think it’s the first match this season we’ve had fewer shots and a lower xG than our opponents - a missed penalty helps a lot with that
