I think Villa stand a very good chance to win the Europa Conference league. I'd be happy for Emery if he did. They are in the semis and hopefully will be the 2nd English club in as many years to win it. Rice can say he has a European medal.

BBC running a piece on the fire sale at Man U and how much some key players are valued at. Obviously everyone can debate values and really a player is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for them - but I always have 1 big bug bear with this. Players who cost an absolute fortune and fail to deliver in any way at all seem to still carry a value based on their previous transfer value.

Anthony for example, he cost Man U £90m, here he's valued at £63m, obviously a decent drop off from where he was quite rightly so. But if Man U had signed Anthony for a much more reasonable £20m, would he be valued at £63m based on his performances for Man U? of course not, so why his valuation of £63m is based probably 90% of his previous transfer value not his realistic value and current ability.

I would suggest that the actual values of the top 5 in that list would be 50% of what is shown here. The same for Onana and McTominey.

I saw another report saying Rashford could be available for 75 million. Even at that price I wouldn’t touch him with bargepole. He’s on 325k a week so walks through the door as our top earner, chuck in the fact he’s so inconsistent

Unfotunately I think he'll stay. There will be a very low turnout I fear as there have been mentions of the current elections but you could hardly call it widespread?

How many Spurs games do you see where Ange basically subs out his entire central midfield? It happens all the time. Its clear to me that all of them are far too inconsistent

They have totally ballsd up their top 4 hopes

It’s brilliant. That geezer is gone next season too. Cycle continues

20 points behind us currently and last season they finished 24 points behind us, I wouldnt bet against us being more than 24 points ahead of them this season. no gap has been closed.

The same cycle happens every year with Spurs, they win their first 3 games of the season and the media go doolally and start talking about an outside title challenge, then people realise that that initial good start was built on sand, they got some lucky results - the metrics always catch up with you.

No chance this spurs team take anything off City. Maybe if Ange actually had more than one tactic and he sat back against them and used the pace of Son, Johnson etc on the break they might just have a chance.

I'm surprised at the Villa scoreline. Oh well.

Absolutely Danny. There were a lot of Irish in North London in those days - far more than there are now. We also had a really impressive Irish contingent on the playing staff. in no particular order - Brady, Stapleton (spit), O'Leary, Devine, Quinn. Good players.

Don't forget Jennings, Rice and Nelson! Won the '79 cup final with six Irishmen playing. Lost the following year with seven on the field.

And no, the moral of the story is not the less Irish players you have, the better your cup final chances...

Spurs beaten by their former manager. That's got to hurt. To be fair didn't Graham beat us when he was managing Spurs? I wonder how he was received by the fans?

No shame in losing to early '70s Ajax. However, generally speaking the English sides seem to have done way better in the '70s up to the ban in the '80s than after the ban. Why do you suppose?

Always good to see the annual moving of the goalposts for Spurs. Over hyped and under perform as always.

There are genuinely spurs fans out there, and many many of them who would take every single one of their back 4 and gk ahead of our defence.

Sammy Nelson showing his arse to the North Bank was a classic memory.

Depending on this weekend's games Man Utd may go into our game having to win. Newcastle and Chelsea are striking distance.
I'd prefer if they had nothing to play for league wise and look ahead to the cup final.

Bournemouth are a dangerous side and we can't take them lightly. I think since about week 12 of the season I read they were 5th for most points. They set up in a compact 4-4-2 block and make it hard for you to play through them, they are well drilled, and offer a proper threat the other way. We need to be at it from the first minute.

So?

So....they are pretty close in their stats accounting for Saka taking some penalties, but their seasons are being reported quite differently. I think if you look at the importance of the goals or assists Saka is one of the best in Europe - based on his goals/assist being the first in a game or an equaliser in a game - not stat padding with the 5th in a 5-0 win.

My fear (and guess) is we will start out slow and be outplayed. Possibly even going a goal down. If we score early we take the foot off the gas too much and concede an equalizer. After back to back wins over our biggest local rivals, a sense of complacency may creep in. I hope not but its not unheard of.
