That would be quite some achievement if I had although 5-10 years of posting on the same subject does somewhat prove my point.

That's not my only reason or indeed permanent condition but it very much depends on my mood - I am large, I contain multitudes etc.

You pompous *%^@!

You, calling me pompous? :1laughter:

As you'll note I've never commented on anything about you bar your posts on here. Of course you contain multitudes...such is a consequence of thought, conscious or otherwise. But your posts about the manager outweigh any of mine regarding match officials by a significant multiplier, and of late have also been a greater proportional representation of your posts. As for your size, I don't care to speculate.

And as for the rest and please don't take this the wrong way and get your feathers all ruffled but the erosion of Wenger's power is hardly Pentagon Papers material is it?

In fairness I don't take any of this nearly as seriously as you I suspect.

Well given this is a football forum, and thus, despite its divergent nature, still primarily concerned with football, there are a limited number of recurring themes...with match officials being a fundamental constant. Particularly Mike Dean after 19 years...

While it may be a topic that irritates some, it is no less a constant that the team as a whole, the manager, the stadium or any other aspect of the game, and thus by nature a perpetually relevant and self-renewing topic.

Actually my size is a matter of some pride to me having benefited from both portion control when it comes to favourites like bread and gin as well as a personal trainer.

Your other statement is only true of late - by your own admission you have been crapping on about refs for the best part of ten years. Wherever bias against us is to be rooted out, I imagine you won't be far away...

No indeed. I don't claim to be an insider. I share what I know and try to give it context. I'm merely pointing out that to want the team to lose to wound the manager and to post so frequently about his demerits and downfall seems a little pointless when its clear that Gazidis has the p45 waiting in his draw, with increasing activity to facilitate its use at the end of this season. Wenger needs to win trophies to save his job, and if he does then saving his job for another year is probably justifiable.

As for taking things seriously, we both choose to ebb and flow in our sincerity levels, and my seriousness, like yours is often defined purely by how long the other party can be bothered to continue jousting. You like to try to get a rise out of people on here for amusement on a regular basis, me among them, and accordingly I like to return the favour every now and then. We do a bit of verbal point scoring and then move on....its been this way for some years now, has it not? If either of us were that bothered, surely we'd just block each other.... :angel4:

Actually getting a rise out of people isn't integral to my enjoyment. It very much depends on the person involved - taking the piss out of Hoy 100% yes but he is more than capable of dealing with that not least because he doesn't give a *%^@ what I think or say about anything.

Mostly on Wenger actually I just try to increase amusement in general at a situation which - erosion of his power notwithstanding - is rather depressing.

Ok, I'll give you points on that last bit.

Of course, when Wenger goes and VAR finally gets implemented properly and efficiently, both of us will find other topics to be pre-occupied about.

Indeed given the universal trialling of VAR and the broader football community's acceptance that change of some sort is needed, maybe I was just ahead of time and part of the vanguard of change....

Two best anthems in the championship going head to head today, but the two nations best at singing them. For once Scotland have a team that might actually be worthy of the singing.

See American, this is how a forum works. Two posters having a debate, having a dig at one another, neither flouncing off or blocking the other.

Ha - City only got 1 point from the Burnley game.

There goes their dreams of winning the league this year.

Wenger’s been coaching the Scottish defence it seems.

Hoy.

Tell me you wouldn't have a frisson of amusement if Theo bagged a hatrick?
It would be pleasure for a decent young guy rather than amusement at Arsenal's expense. I wouldn't find much fun in Arsenal losing.

Scotland Rugby Team doing a worse job in south Wales than Arsenal. After their autumn Scotland have reversed at remarkable speed.

Yes, but I think you'll find giving young players some experience is not one of Pep's KPIs.

See I'm a lot more simple than you on this one - it would just be funny.

I never really know what I want from an Arsenal game these days until it starts. Deffo wanted us to come back and win against United. Always happy to see Chelsea lose. Not gonna deny I really enjoy it when Wenger's stubbornness (sorry not sorry for my monomania here) gets the reward it deserves at lesser clubs or via a colossal spanking (surprisingly hasn't happened much given our defence).

Last season I was willing Palace to put more past us I was so cheesed off with our performance and Swansea wasn't so different. *%^@ 'em they deserved nothing less.

All in all though, the idea that it will dislodge the manager is obviously fantasy so that's not my main mode of thinking. I just really dislike the guy now so quite enjoy it when his hubris, elitism and total disregard for anything other than "his" club gets its comeuppance. Won't make any *%^@*** difference anyway 'cos we're 6th this season. What happens next will be down to the shower of incompetent faux-aristocratic piss-taking, money-grabbing Trump-supporting shite that run our Bank of England club.

Thank God we haven't got an Oligarch eh?

Čech, Bellerin, Kos, mustafi, Monreal, Xhaka, ramsey, iwobi, Özil, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang

Lacazette and Wilshere on the bench.

Not surprised iwobi and Xhaka keep their place because this is wenger. Neither should start this game. And Wilshere has to be in there to drive the game forward.

Classic 4-1-5 formation from wenger it seems

I could be wrong of course (!) but that's a very risky line up for me. A shonky defence with zero midfield protection.

Yes it's really disappointing - Ramsey spoiling an otherwise fine performance by the Welsh today.

Shame Aubameyangs first goal was about 50 yards offside, but that's a combination we'd like to see more of! Mkhitaryan playing like he's got something to prove.
