This is a really nerve wracking watch. Raya isn’t filling me with confidence right now.

Citys line up is a bit scary.

Citys XI : Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Virgil van Dijk, Rodri, Casemiro, Marcus Rashford, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Lisandro Martinez
Subs : Bruno Guimaraes, Harry Kane, Ivan Toney, Ronaldo

Does somebody want to explain to me why we think this geezer is a better keeper than Ramsdale

Another poor touch from Raya. A problem since our plan seems to be to pass it back to him.

Studs above the ankle. If that’s front on it’s a red

No genuine attempt for the ball there, just no way he can win it, that’s worse that the one Curtis Jones was sent off for me because of the intent and the likelihood of injury

So what are you going to do now mikel. Going by what you have said to the press you need to sub your keeper.

That kind of thing can decide games. He has to be off. He should have been with the first one and definitely has to be after that one

Saliba top class against Haaland. 50 yards from goal 1v1 run and he just shoulders him to the floor. Not many can do that

So Tomiyasu gets sent off for time wasting on a throw and not touching a striker and Kovacic can stay on the pitch after those two tackles

So var can intervene on straight reds which lead to 11 v 10 but can’t intervene on 2nd yellows which lead to 11v 10.

Absolutely game changing decision and no doubt at all our player would go for that at the Etihad.

It was always going to be a mismatch against Walker. Need to get Martinelli or Emile Smith Rowe or Nelson on, I'd say.

Apart from Trossard and Raya we've been decent. City don't unbeatable.

It's a no brainer that Var should look at all potential reds, including second yellows whether or not given by the onfield officials. If it isn't given they can check without stopping the game.

City definitely should be down to 10 but we look scared stiff.

All these players with big reputations and we look frozen with fear.

Declan Rice has been good, ditto Saliba and Gabriel but the rest have been well below their usual levels.

Poor old Raya is copping some flak but to be honest he isn't exactly being given a lot of options to pass the ball out to.

No, there is no excuse. He had a bad half and that contributed to our looking terrified at times..

Apart from that, I though we played with justifiable caution (maybe too much indeed :laughing7: ) but we were coming back into it nicely later in the half.

Very few moments of promise from us. Lack of movement into space when we have the ball, mind you City are very good to mark our players movement and close down space. Early on Rice was poor but Jorginho has been good. Rice is simply not a 100million player. Good defensively but adds nothing else. For 100 I expect Viera dominance and creativity. Eddie at least trying but until the last 10 I thought Jesus was ordinary and Trossard non existent.

Michael Oliver again proved he does not like us. Jorginho booked early and bottled it. If that’s not a second yellow and the first would have been red. The ref who issued 2 yellows to Martenelli and let’s that go.

I still think Oliver is a good ref and him or Taylor had to do this game but Oliver booked Martinelli twice in 20 seconds but decided Kovacic stays on after those two

Bit like the community shield. The coaches will say it’s the off ball marking and pressing that leads to the lack of flow.

Better start to the second half. Martinelli adding a bit of energy.

Declan rice running with the ball shows you what a powerful runner means. Someone tries to tackles him and they’re just swatted away. Love it.

Did you see Walker hitting Eddie in the back?? All the tricks. I have to respect it but I *%^@*** hate that.
