How did I know Tierney would be the ref today. Saka and co will have the shite kicked out of them.

Ignore everything I said about Newcastle. They’re in their 4-3-3, Isak is back up front. Livramento comes in for Burn at left back. Saka would have had lumbering Burn on toast.

Karius starts in goal for them

.
Newcastle goalie ; has played one competitive game in three years . Now if we f*&*** around doing the ring a ring a rosy among the back four , White doing his normal positive purposeful drive forward only to swivel and stroke it thirty metres back then we are setting out our stall for a 0-0 . Give this bloke the kitchen sink

:laughing7: shows what a bunch of talking heads the Sky Sport team are ...... Sean Wright Phillips wisdom aplenty spouts
...... "I think Arsenal will want to bounce back from their mid week 0-0 draw "

The compere and Alan Shearer wisely nod their assent . . " Hold on a sec I thought mid week we lost 1-0 "

We’re massively overloading our left side. Havertz, rice, Jorginho, Martinelli, Kiwior and Gabriel all over there

The tempo from us is excellent, you wouldn’t know we had an away European game on Wednesday and Newcastle had a full week off

Bruno is a target for our players and the crowd. He’s just passed one out for a corner.

I've always wanted a formation that allows Rice to go forward a bit more. Its adding pressure that we haven't had before. Havertz scoring has done volumes for his confidence. He lays the ball a bit off too much, I want him shooting more.

Ødegaard also needs to be shooting more.

Newcastle’s first touch in our penalty area came in the 43rd minute and that only counted because the ref waved play on from the offside. If the offside stood I don’t think they’ve had a touch in our box

It won't be as easy 2nd half. A 3rd goal will be nice in case they pull a goal back.

The tone was set in the first 5 seconds with Havertz taking Raya’s long kick off punt down on his chest and us winning a corner inside 15 seconds.

Havertz has been brilliant, Martinelli super sharp. We need to get that 3rd goal in the second half because there is no way we can keep up this pace of the press through the match.

If we don’t get the 3rd we’ll need the bench to make sure we see this out

Saka moving into a more central position has thrown the Toon off. The were organized to double Saka on the wing .

Much slower tempo and much more even game this half. Without a huge threat from Newcastle.

Our legs will get tired so we need to be sensible and see this through

Just heard a supporter call out ‘come on Arsenal wake up’. I have to say I was thinking very similar thoughts about the second half.
