Albeit in a position that he is still very much a novice in

But I have seen suggestions here that he should get game time at full back. I'm not sure so if I'm wrong I apologise. But I thought it was you who said it.

In an emergency AMN should be used at full back as he is our best option after the 4 natural and experienced full backs we have. I was more keen for AMN to get games in central mid, not in the prem but certainly in the cup games.

For the really clever people ...I'm not convinced with Umai's body language ..... he wears those ponsy little tight fitting jackets and he constantly looks out from under his brow ... like he's apologising for something , often seems close to tears

Stand up and be proud you muppet ...you represent Arsenal FC ... along with your English lessons take a course in karate

To be fair to AMN, he is only just back from injury. Also, Emery asks his fullbacks to take up very advanced positions and even more so when we play with 3 centre backs. AMN would be better suited to a more conservative fullback role, while central midfield is clearly his preferred position.

I thought he should have started in CM which is his position. I also thought Emery was wrong to play so many first teamers. The Carabao Cup is ideal for blooding young players especially on a night at home against Spudz.

Bellerin confirmed out for 2 weeks, bad timing with the Christmas period could mean missing 4 games, do the same injury during an international break and you miss no games.

I think our lack of squad depth is really felt when one of our key first 11 players is missing. Compare that to Liverpool who lost Alexander-Arnold to injury and have played Gomez, Clyne and Milner there without missing a beat

Liverpool and Van Dijk in particular impressive again beating a good wolves side 2-0, however the result could have been very different, or at least a lot more difficult if wolves get a penalty for a foul by Milner on Doherty when it was 0-0. Small things change games and Liverpool are certainly getting the lucky breaks at the moment

The players need to come out tonight to play hard and win. Don't start thinking "it is only Burnley", and do the over-pass game. The hard pressing side of the game has been missing for a while. Sure hope Medley gets thrown into the mix somewhere today. Emery needs to show some faith now. Kos has shown over the last 2 defeats that he is no longer close to competitive level.

We will play them soon. Our next 2 games prior to this game are crucial to build on the team's psych.

Make Čech a GK coach, get in Navas and we have a great 2 man selection. Simple. :icon_mrgreen:

Nope.

Although that would have been true from about 1973 to 1993. Used to play county league. The sport has long passed its heyday.

Think more modern/fashionable.

Agree - he needs to be less “chilled” and be more decisive in his play if he is going to be considered a 1st team player under Emery.

Hello Hodd,
How as the "atmosphere" around the club changed? Has there been a change in direction with relation to your area?

As for MN, I think he just needs games and he's trying to figure out his game. An NLD is a HUGE game to be thrown into. I wouldn't be so harsh with regards to that specific game. He's still learning.

I had to look that one up.

Is there much of that played in Australia then? :42laughter:

Leno took some stick for the mistake for Southampton’s winner, the only other mistake I can recall is the Dier header in the NLD that he sort of shovelled in to the net. I can also recall 2 mistakes Allison has made directly leading to goals, 1 where he tried to dribble round a Leicester player and the one v Man U where he spilled a simple cross. De Gea has been no where near his best and make a big mistake v us and I’m sure there have been others.

I’m not saying Leno is at the level of Allison and De Gea but he is an improvement on Čech and has made some very very good saves to keep us in games at crucial times, he played a big part in the 22 game unbeaten run

Özil has to start in today’s game. Team sitting deep he can have as much of the ball as he wants to try to unlock them. Xhaka must also start in CM, we need his control and switching of play

In addition to Özil and Xhaka I'd like Lacazette to start with Aubameyang and for Kos to sit this one out. Hopefully Mustafi with a youngster.

We need a good win, nothing less.

Elneny in and Torreira out for some reason. Saka on the bench as is Ramsey.

Isn't Antman on 4 yellows? If so benching him is the right decision for a game we should win.

Heard him referred to that the other day thought it was funny.

Özil makes his mark. Super pass to open it up. Aubameyang finishes off the move.

Surely not going to be a half time lead in the league at last?

What a turgid first half that was, easily the least entertaining Arsenal game so far this season.

Thought we fell away the further the half went. Too often we are making passes to people already marked & there is little running into space. Heading to bed instead of seeing it out.

That pass from Özil for the goal shows precisely why we have to play him.

Emery has unfortunately miss judged this one.

Every time there is a challenge in the air their player leaves one on our lads. After a while it gets ridiculous and how the ref doesn’t notice it I always find remarkable
