School cadet shooting champ. 100 yds Falling plate was fun.

Not unlike your compatriot RamSAY ...you Welsh are just so talented .

My school cadet days along with the .303 encompassed firing a water cooled Vickers machine gun ......... Jees they didn't even use that version in WW2 .

Did National Service firing a Bren from the hip Rambo style at half a dozen targets was pretty cool .

Couldn't hear the opening from where I watched the match but it seems like Theo had a good receptioin. I'd have been surprised if it was otherwise.

Sorry couldn't resist. :angel11:
Good win today for our 2 debut players. May it continue.

Unfortunately the Rams are doing well. It was their best season in a long time. They haven't had a sniff at the playoffs for about a decade or so or even a winning season. They have a young, good coach as well.

Cheer for my Philadelphia Eagles.
I assume Andy Green is doing so as well.

Didn't get to try a Vickers - just a Bren, but not from the hip! Also a Sten once, all good fun when there's no-one shooting back at you.

Great performance by Aaron Ramsey hopefully he will now go on a run of form rather than reverting to type with a selection of mediocre performances and games where he's trying to play centre forward.

You raise a valid point: with Spurs and City coming up sorting central midfield will be absolutely critical.

It's a big decision for Arsene, jack or Aaron next to Xhaka.

The problem with Ramsey is he's never been able to get the right balance of his duties in midfield, his strength is making attacking forward runs which he is good at but neglects other duties required to play in the centre of a midfield 2.

By the way Everton were abysmal and you're right the test will come at Spurs and city not them.

What about Lacazette, what does he do with him? Great to have him on the bench but why didn't he use him yesterday?

Where will he pay him, is he our new Giroud?

A rest will do Lacazette good I think - however I would like to see how he does with the style of play we demonstrated yesterday. Fast paced one touch stuff; I think that would suit him far more than the tippy happy nonsense.

Agree obviously Everton were awful in the first half, though we did well to take full advantage. For me we need three disciplined players in midfield for the tougher games against Spurs and City, Jack in for Iwobi I'd suggest, with Ramsey under instructions to pay more attention than usual to his defensive duties.

Home comforts and an Everton side who were quite generous.

Great to see Aubameyang get off the mark, probably the worst offside decision I’ve seen all season. Wish we got one of those in a tight game rather than the 4th goal in a romp.

Mkhitaryan with 3 assists, early days but how he plays seems to suit arsenal’s style more than Man U.

Fantastic hat trick from Ramsey, the third goal he made look so easy but that is a difficult finish.

Don’t think that performance really changes anything. We need to find that confidence away from Home. Next weekend is the real test and I still can’t see us finishing in any position other than 6th

Was speaking to a German guy at my son's football match (excellent CDM performance) and he was really raving about Mkhitaryan thinks we might have got the best end of that deal...

It is very noticeable how Aubameyang appears to glide across the ground, in the manner that Henry and even Walcott did/do. I remember Harry Redknapp saying Walcott could run through puddles without making a splash and that is kind of how Aubameyang looks.

He wasn't majorly involved in the game but obviously his finish for the goal and the jet-heeled run in behind from Özil's pass were the two stand-out moments. It will be interesting to see whether he is closer to Henry or Walcott in terms of his impact in the PL.

Hi Soc,

He played a crucial part in the opening goal too. It was his pass that released Mkhitaryan. It was an excellent ball too and it was nice to see him celebrate when the ball hit the back of the net.

Dele Alli with another disgraceful dive. Rightly booked but players should be banned for this.
Alli is a serial offender but won’t get called out by the press as much as someone like Pires who is still the premier leagues poster boy for diving even though it was once and 14 years ago

That penalty incident was beyond farce. If I understood the lino, he said that Kane was in an offside position but not active because he didn't touch the ball (even though he did) so therefore the peno stands. Mind boggling

Tried to just plop it straight down the middle and the gk just stayed there.

That would have made it 2-1 to spurs with 5 mins left.....now salah scores and spurs are 2-1 down! Hilarious

Anyone think the linesman had a sizeable bet on Spurs to score a peno?

Now Kane does score a penalty in the 94th min to get a 2-2 draw.

Fair play to Kane for stepping up to take that penalty.

Jon Moss is at the centre of it all, to be fair to him though I think it was his Lino making the penalty calls

The first pen. Doesn't it have to be a deliberate pass for it to be played on not a slight deviation of the ball?

The second was given on the slightest of touches.

Spurs very lucky. Hopefully not so on Saturday.

Never mind the database bit .... hand clamped vainly to mouth .
Let's get this right you are trying to ressurect an eight year old picture of ... a ... a ... d .. do ... :1laughter: dog .

What did he have back then .... ? different hair style , wasn't so wrinkled , more teeth

I'm a bit each way with these types , wife's friend has one ..... wonderful character , never barks , nuzzles up to you ..HOWEVER .. next door neighbour has one , it's got the most irritating screeching YAP YAP bloody YAP everytime it gets excited .

Have to say ...the excited anticipation of whether Warrior can weave his magic is almost too much to bear .

Not true, we just commented words to the effect that he made a quiet debut at Swansea. Which he did.

Spurs second pen was a blatant dive.VD goes to kick the ball pulls back and the Spurs player backs into him.

If the FA punish the Spurs player it would stop repeats of the same sort.

They read the law on motd2 if a defender deliberately plays the ball first it doesn’t matter that he’s offside. Like a back pass. We had a similar goal against us a few years ago against Everton, the French Striker who came via Fulham and Utd who’s name escapes me. Same thing the defender scuffed the ball in an attempt to play it forward and it spun on to Louis Saha was was it?? At the time it was interpreted as a back pass which was farcical. I don’t know if they’ve changed the law or just it was mis represented at the time. I didn’t think either penalty call was outrageous. Anyway Salah is flippin amazing isn’t he, his second goal was truely Messi-esque.

Do you think? I couldn’t tell didn’t see loads of replays. VdV’s foot swings round and goes near the back of Lamela’s knee. I though Lamela was facing away from him and reacted at exactly the time the contact would have occurred, which made it likely there was contact. Even if it’s just the toe of his boot, behind your knee is pretty sensitive so Lamela might legitimately react like that if he’s caught. It struck me that it was the sort of one you don’t see given often but I couldn’t actually tell if VdV made contact.
