I know I’ve been hard on Özil but based his performances since the last World Cup, I don’t think I’ve been unreasonable. But when you see him against this lot - who admittedly are clearly less than top-notch - well he’s a real joy to watch. I’m reminded of his first season and how much everyone loved him.

So what’s the answer Mesut? All up to you, I think.

So ours was offside and their penalty was a dive. Equals out so far but not a great advert for those criticising VAR. VAR would have chalked off the offside if it was in use but it’s anyones guess whether it would have given the dive. Is it more fun this way?

Martinelli missed a great chance for a first half hat trick and to give us our two goal lead back. This game can go any way. We’re 2-3 up at half time but it’s hard to feel too confident.

Pretty decent game, albeit littered with mistakes from both sides.

Martinelli is a magnet for the ball in the box. Should have had a hat-trick.

I don't get why our players do not track runners, is tracking not a fundamental part of the game?

Aye theres a few goals in this yet. Would like to see more from Willock and Saka in the second half.

Martinelli had 2 chances to pass to players better placed than him and fluffed both.

Özil for the first touch and go but the second was really bad. Was a certain goal if he'd passed it.

Ha ha. Worst defensive error of the night. And it’s not us.
