I def have that as out you could see the ball it moved over the line and you could see the post so how can they call it as in.

I wondered that, but then was there a part of Bowen’s leg covering a tiny part of the line?

The problem we have is the linesman doesn’t make a decision because he knows var is there to make any decision - but when the decision is so tight, var is basically saying the onfield decision was made and it can’t be over turned

That last shot shows it was over ut they're saying it wasn't contentious what a load of crap.

On field decision is a goal and VAR could not disprove it. Correct decision. We have not tested the goalie nearly enough and West Ham are comfortable.

How do we keep getting on the wrong side of these ‘inconclusive’ decisions with var?

All we need is the guesswork by the onfield officials to go in our way and we’d have all these var calls then to our way as it would work in the opposite way

Really poor clearance from Zinchenko. Completely unnecessary to put ourselves in that position.

Pretty much spot on.

Trossard faffing around when we have a free kick in a good position sums us up.

No Bowen's leg is not covering part of the line . I'm amazed the commentary team are so f**&& stupid .
One frame you can see a little bit of the ball on the line the NEXT frame you cant see the ball because of Bowen's leg but you can see the whole line so it has to be out .

Um how is that not a penalty for Soucek just taking Jesus out in the box? Nowhere near the ball as Jesus dummied it

Exactly so KP but if our own supporters can't see it why should they?

One of the pundits on my feed called the game a West Ham win before the game. Sounded a bit crazy at first...

I take some solace in Brighton being up 3-0.

The one they showed afterwards did seem out :icon_eek1:

Doesn't excuse our defending.

Wrong on the first point ; they can disprove it .... if you can't see the ball but can see the whole of the line it has to be out ....?

Right on the second we are so pedestrian and predictable nothing innovative .

Lots of time wasting already. Should be at least 6 mins added on here with the goal and injury to Pacqueta

Zinchenko seems like a mistake about to happen at times.

I hope you are right. Jesus and Ode look up for it.

We need to watch those counters though.

The problem is, even if there is 0.00001% of doubt they shy away from making a decision.
This shot shows part of Bowen’s shorts over the line so var will say what if part of the ball that we can’t quite fully see is behind the shorts and therefore still in. Logically you can see where the ball is and say with all the evidence it is over the line - but because it can’t fully be proved 100%, no caveat, no debate then they’ll stick with the onfield ‘decision.’…and I put decision in inverted commas because I really believe they don’t make decisions now on the pitch

We need to use the left hand side more.

Won’t suit the bed wetters agenda but we are missing Havertz as he brings a different set of qualities to the side. Id be tempted to sub Trossard possibly however you are losing another potential goalscorer

We’re just lacking a tiny bit of sharpness but we should be winning. But for the post, another contentious goal, and the ball not quite falling for us in their area. Let’s hope our momentum will continue in the 2nd half and get us the goals our pressure merits.

Hopefully Trossard and Martinelli will pick it up this half. Neither has impressed so far.

Have they discontinued the goal line technology? Surely if it had gone out wouldn't Oliver's watch buzz so all he had to do was show his watch to show it was in or out?

Come on now, how is that not a free kick on the edge of the box? Trossard shoots first time, no touch by the defender and he bumps over Trossard

That’s why you just cannot afford to give away the first goal at home to sides who are just going to sit in and defend. Second goal is always there from a freak counter or set piece.

Chalk this down as a terrible day at the office
