I think he's giving him a run to see how if he will be in next year's squad, with either or both of Lacazette and Aubameyang gone

probably the most logical explanation. Looks pretty ominous in that case

I'm not too pushed about it really. Aubameyang is a top striker but his age is a factor and once his pace goes or injuries starting becoming frequent, he would be a very expensive player to have on the books. Lacazette never did anything for me. Good work ethic but not terribly difficult to replace.

Ceballos has changed the midfield. When he receives the ball he's looking to play it forward instead of immediately playing it back to the central defender. He's looking for runs. So you have both he and Özil looking for runs and to get it to players in attacking positions.

I like how we have more bodies in the box. (Wasn't there a forumite in here with that name?). Slowly we are changing to a more direct side. Far from the finished article but its evident we are different than we were in the first half of the season.

It's also obvious Ceballos isn't Real Madrid quality as well.

How did Sokratis miss that?

West ham should be 2 up. Our defending is a joke.

Pépé hasn’t found a team mate yet. Not at the races

We are looking distinctly average again.

We keep giving the ball away and WH look really dangerous on the break against our paceless defence.

WH should have scored 3, we are living dangerously.

Mari decent on the ball but looks too slow for the PL.

Saka has had lots of decent crossing opportunities but yet to hit the killer ball.

I’m always amazed how quick the VAR decisions are made when it is possibly a penalty to Arsenal.

Well, we were pretty poor. West Ham looking distinctly dangerous from counters and set pieces. Pépé has the beating of his man but really looks like a headless chicken.
Good news is we're still level and have the chance to change the pattern of the game after the break.

Poor all round really. Plenty of the ball but lacking that end product and extremely vulnerable when WH counter attack.

Özil taking Pépé's space and making it too crowded on the right side.

Our left side is the most dangerous with Saka's overlaps but his crossing is not up to his usual standard.

Sok is not suitable as a right back. With him there, opposition knows there won't be any overlapping attacks down that wing. He prefers to pass back, and prefers the easier pass.

Yes, it's not helping our attacks down that side.

Another big chance for WH, could easily have scored 4.

Our central midfield is so one-paced.

Arteta would appear to not rate Martinelli that highly.

Why oh why do we need to make a fetish out of passing out from the back. No point when they are being pressed closely. It will cost us.

Beginning to have serious concerns about Arteta's team selections and substitutions.

West Ham had a few gilded chances. We could have scored a few times as well. Both sides unlucky. Hoping we can pull out a well needed win if we have any European ambitions.

They need to cut the time on VAR and come up with a better system. The argument its slowing down the game is getting validity. They need to study leagues that have been using VARs for years like America.

Happy for the goal nonetheless.

Goal Arsenal....not sure why it too half an hour for VAR to review that one. Clearly onside.

We need another goal or a string of defensive miracles.

Good grief WH have had some gilt edged chances. We've rode our luck so far today.

The space WH have had on the counter-attack through the centre of our midfield is frightening.

A good side would have put us to the sword today.

The win was way much harder than I thought it would be. Not sure how much of it was our doing with poor defending or Moyes managing them well. Either way, it was tough.
