I think the NLD can possibly be summed up as a 'must win' game for The Arsenal and a 'must not lose' game for Tottenham. If the truth be told we have done remarkably well just to still be in the title discussion against the juggernaut that is Man City.

They have a formidable squad and are basically a machine in which most of the parts are fully interchangeable with little or no loss of quality and that allows them to rest players. I have to take some offense to the 'Arsenal bottled it' last season and this season. City has won the title 5 of the last 6 years. So, we are expected to come in and win it first time? Or even second time, competing with their money and wages. Either people are simply unrealistic and/or they are finding any excuse to criticize us.

Liverpool had 97 points and 1 loss (lowest in the league) and still lost the title. Another season had 92 points, 2 losses (lowest in the league) and still lost. When you score 90 points plus and can't win the league, when in pretty much any other season it was enough, its unrealistic to expect us to win it.

Too early to talk about it but next season I think we'll be very, very hard to beat. I think it will be our season. I will say again, Timber in the team will take us to a new level. Him along with any striker and center mid but we buy no one else, we'll be stronger with him. Have a great feeling about him.

In relation to the last sentence, I think that is one of our weaknesses. Arteta needs to have more trust and also ensure that he improves the players on the margins so they easily slot into the team. We have not brought any young players thru since he arrived. Plus the reserve purchases don't seem to get any game time, even in some of the cups. And the marginal players have one bad game or even one mistake and they are out of favour. Pep manages players on the margins better. Look at Foden and his slow progress over the years. I concede it is easier for him because coming to that club you are almost guaranteed of some trophy so they are better quality. But they have a reasonably compact squad. I think a few of our squad have been playing with injuries which does hinder at times.

I don't buy the whole City is always buying the title. You can have all the money and players in the world but you need to get them to play and Pep has done that. Look at teams like PSG, Bayern this year and even Man U : spending does not guarantee success. Its getting the mindset to win and doing the right things to ensure it. There are no guarantees. At City, they get to this time of the year and they expect to steam roll all teams to win the title. This year I still think we have a chance but Spurs is a big challenge.

Has positive attributes and seems quite clever on the ball. Lacks a bit of pace though. not getting too excited after watching highlights against some tragic defending and with far more space and time than he’d get in the PL. A good option as competition for Martinelli who’s become a bit one dimensional with his play.
