Just seen an interview post Spurs game Arsene's opening intro " Well the game was 50 / 50 possession ..... groan :20hospitals: when will you ever ever ever f*** learn possession means nothing , zilch , zero , nada , nichts , rein .... it's what you do with the f&^^%# ball when you got it that matters .

When I see things like that I think this guy will never learn .

If Arsene stays into the final year of his contract then surely that would weaken Arsenal's negotiating power in hiring his replacement because like always in the market, Arsenal will be desperate.

Daz I think most of us would shrug our shoulders, let out a sigh of indifference, and quickly move on.

That's where we are with Arsenal these days.

Also a significant amount to do with what you do when you don't have the ball. Another concept that Wenger fails to grasp.

That's what I did against Tottenham where I did not want us to lose.

But I would seriously love it if we lost tonight. Sadly I cannot watch it because I'm taking my son to see Julius Caesar (move over, Hoy) to try and learn him that there are other things in life than football - a "treat" he seriously resents me for.

I have told him to imagine that Caesar is Wenger and he might enjoy it a lot more.

Erm, if Wenger's sacked and we have to look for a new manager - wouldn't that be a more desperate and a weaker negotiating position?

Are Stan's reasons for sacking the same as yours or this forum's? We keep thinking Stan would sack Wenger for what may be seen as obvious reasons. Stan may not (and I'd suggest most likely) deem those reasons sackable.

Thinking we'll finish 4th is taking over-optimism to radical extremes. To suggest we'll finish 5th isn't quite as barmy a prediction, but to say "5th at worst" makes it more barmy than would have been the case without the "at worst". Everything, in my view, currently points to us finishing 6th.

In current form 7th is more likely than 5th. 6th place for me has about a 95% chance of happening, 3% 7th, 2% 5th

Was looking back over old posts and I was saying in September we would finish 6th or 7th. I've seen nothing to convince me different from then to now.

As fans now we are merely passengers aboard Wengers exploding clown car.

Wenger is our Brexit and the stupidity never ends

"LEARN HIM "..... bit arse backwards you've been watching too many Wenger interviews . Downunder we would have said " teach him ".

I'd just read that link you posted before logging on .... very folksy , ticking all the boxes , morals, ideals . attitude etc etc .

Not quite in your camp of wanting us to lose but if we were to ; the disappointment would be tempered by the fact ; such a result would be such an injection for people doing things right

.... and in today's world of football typified by that bloated cash cow Manchester City of obscene wages , fees , spending ... FIFA corruption .... that means a lot

Yes I was intimating that .... other teams crowd us halfway inside our half making it difficult for us to keep possession , we however make a couple of token efforts to close people down , then cede territory ,retreating to our to our "Maginot Line" on the edge of our penalty area .
The Germans found a way around that as do a lot of our opponents .

That along with EVERYONE back for a corner ... leaving us no target for relief ..... :blob8: braindead .

2-0 against woeful opposition. We should win this 7 or 8. Don't see the point of risking the big players here. Get Eddie, Nelson and Willock on asap.

We’ll surely walk this tie but even after 30 minutes it is clear this arsenal team and their manager learn nothing. Same mistakes in possession, same huge gaps in central mid, gifting chances, still slow on the ball.
We’re winning 2-0 and it is still quite difficult to enjoy watching arsenal. That’s what wenger has done to us

It is just brainless football at times.
Ospina plays a short ball out to chambers who is deep near his own corner flag, he plays it down the line to Bellerin and suddenly there is a 3 man press against our 2, the ball goes back to chambers who hoofs it high and not very far.
We still cannot play against a high press against any level of opposition. It’s like Wenger completely stumbled on playing Cazorla deep and centrally and no he’s gone he hasnt got a clue what to do.

Last 20 mins we haven’t been in the game at all. They have been peppering our goal with shots.
You often hear managers talk about their team being ‘compact’. Arsenal and wenger don’t bother with it at all.

So frustrating to once again see a team who are just quicker, hungrier and more up for it than we are. Yes we’re 2-0 up but it’s because these guys are league 2 standard.

First 20 mins they were maybe a bit overawed by the occasion, as soon as they realised we weren’t actually that good they more than matched us for the rest of the half.
Welbeck has looked so rusty up front. I’d get Nketiah on

Long time member. Not so regular poster. However I do follow the forum regularly.

Watching the game and I have to say iho Welbeck is never going to make it as a striker. He just doesn't seem to be greedy enough. He doesn't want to take anyone on and doesnt run on to throughballs.

And more recently I have started falling asleep in Arsenal matches. This has never happened before. The football is so boring now and lacks any penetration.

Arsenal are just so boring to watch.

I just don’t understand what our plan is anymore? We don’t press, we don’t sit deep, we don’t counter, we don’t even keep possession well. Whatever the tactics are it is the same every game.

That Liverpool trio up front would bag 8/9 against this lot
