For a long time we’ve needed a dribbler in the team, someone willing to commit a defender to a tackle rather than just well drilled defensive covering. Iwobi is that player for us right now. Making things happen with his directness. Often taking two men each time

He’s constantly asking questions of the opposition and should be first name on the team sheet currently.

We take our left back off and they put a right winger on.

If ever the pass before the assist makes 95% of the goal there it is. Özil has cut Leicester apart with a single pass, takes out their entire defence. Bellerin with the simple square ball and a tap in for Aubameyang

Whatever emery said at half time has totally rallied them. Leicester haven’t had a kick second half

3-1 just watch that and enjoy it. Very few clubs in the world can play like that.

Not been a perfect performance, but I'm not going to complain about a single thing when we score goals like the ones we've scored here. Özil is just a sublime player. What a performance from him today.

So much for Arsene’s opinion that he’d now be demotivated with nothing to play for

This is purely the pace and intensity that is making this happen. To play with that pace and intensity you have to take risks. Gambling on winning second balls, making that run off the ball etc

I like how Emery made half time adjustments and we are a different side in the 2nd half.

Emery's team showing more urgency than Wengers Arsenal in their last few seasons. And less fannying around.

The vibes from this team are very good. It looks like they care and believe. It’s been quite a while since it felt like that

Commentator saying 3 things have gone against Leicester tonight
1 the handball not given and what they say would have been a second yellow for holding (bizarre logic that a simple hand ball needs to be a yellow)
2 that arsenal scored just before half time
3 Özil has been really on it

I’m not sure the last two really count as ‘going against’ them as though they are unlucky

Lacazette lacks a bit. Iwobi outstanding tonight. 40 minutes of rubbish redeemed by some sequences of wonderful team football.

So nice that rat-boy Vardy hasn’t had a kick tonight. He can go back to telling everyone how he turned arsenal down to stay at Leicester again

Weirdly since Xhaka moved to right back he’s just been so much more switched on defensively than he is in CM. Good in the 1v1 and getting out to block crosses. He must know he’s not comfortable there so is just more concentrated

Just one of those nights for Lacazette. Let’s remeber his deadly finishing won us the game at Cardiff and set us up for the Fulham win before others added the gloss.

We’ve got a team with goals from lots of sources, if one of them doesn’t get you the other one will. I’ll worry more when Lacazette stops getting the chances which happened at times last season when (we now know) he played through an injury

Some credit for bellerin tonight. He's clearly being told to play very very high, he often has a right winger who drifts in and gives him little cover. Two assists tonight, he's been good for us this season, certainly improved from last year.

Özil MOTM for the 3 decisive moments, and put a 4th on the plate for Lacazette. But Iwobi was a constant threat all game, he was tyhe one driving the team forward when we weren't playing well in the first half

Woof, woof.......that was some sexy second half football.

Stats before the game showed that our players have run further than any other team and made more sprints than any other team. That suggests we are fitter and more athletic than anyone else and perhaps explains why we improve in the second half when the opposition begins to run out of steam.

Iwobi was excellent. Özil as good as I have seen him for Arsenal in the second half.

Make no mistake, though, our defence is so incredibly vulnerable that eventually some team will take their chances and blow us away before we can click into gear.

just taking your finger out of your arse seems to be a great "Plan B"

wonder why le genius didn't think of that

There seems to be 110% less fannying around with the ball. When we get the ball into a wide attacking area we are carving out way more chances than we did previously. The ball is going in the box and the strikers know it so make more runs and it’s making a real difference.

I think we look a very different team to last season.

Thank goodness le prat left

I like Maguire and Chilwell but they both got completely done by Özil's magic pass (chilwell) and dummy and run behind (maguire). But then if you don't play for a really big club the media will forget those mistakes and only highlight your good games. Certain players get the opposite treatment, Özil is in that camp and so is someone like Pogba.
Tomorrow's headlines will be about Özil but I guarantee each report will also say 'why doesnt he do it all the time'. People are too quick to focus on the things Özil doesn't do rather than the things he can do. Media give body language more credence than actual stats that show Özil has created more chances than any player in the league since he joined, more than media darlings Silva and De Bruyne - in a weaker team

I agree on the defence Soc. You could argue we were missing 4 of our first choice back 5 with Čech, Sokratis, Koscielny and Monreal out.
One more encouraging thing appears to be the cutting out of the individual mistakes.

We really are a 2nd half team these days.
Exhilarating those 2 goals in the 2nd half.
Magical goals.
Özil came to life.
Beautiful pass to split them.
And great cross by Bellerin and the gorgeous anticipation and formality of Aubameyang just tapping it in.
3rd goal was a joy just like the 3rd at Fulham.
Stunning goal and proof we are really finding our feet and the players are enjoying playing for Emery.
Very encouraging we are making tweaks and 2nd half we tore them apart.
Very worried when we went a goal behind. Leicester were good.
First 30 very poor but great to see the character to keep bouncing back.

Obviously it's not all because of Emery - the goals today were all individual pieces of skill from very talented players - but his ability to turn a game around is extremely impressive so far. Great substitutions in pretty much every game and he always seem to get the team going when we're struggling.

And there is the bonus that he can manage his Arsenal coat without looking like a complete prat. :9adore-boo:

To be fair it’s a much more stylish looking garment than Arsenes old one !

If it didn’t have the garish logo on it I’d be tempted. Very city yuppie look

Hope he puts his finger on the first half lethargy pretty soon, must be tearing his hair out.

Another sublime attacking performance in the second half! Onto Palace we go. 3 points there and we can take Liverpool for second in early November!
