Just use this one, and put it inside those Img-tags, and you won't need a smiley. It'll look lite this:

I'll have to view that later dude. Blocked.

I was tooling with the signature size - users _may_ have to make their sigs a bit smaller maybe - not sure yet ..

I will try adjusting it later

Richie - I went to a school called Sunnyhill in Valley Road. It was one of those high windowed, gothic style schools built in the late 1800s. We played our school football matches on Mitcham Common on saturday mornings because the school didn’t have a playing field. The school staff were composed of shell-shocked ex serviceman with the jitters, Goodbye Mr Chips oldsters with cotton-wool hair and hard-up students with frayed cuffs. It wasn’t a happy time and of course at this time the cane and the slipper were always close to hand or behind.

I know the one. School is still there. We were luckily enough to have our own pitches. Though I wasn't really into footy then so didn't make the most of them. My school was at the bottom of Streatham Vale. We lived just behind the ice skating rink. I recall having to take an empty paraffin container to the garage by Streatham Common station then lugging it home (full) on the way back from school so we would all have some heating for a few days. The school run, no such thing then! Not for me anyway. Left that school in '72 to go to boarding school where your apt description about Mr Chips isn't far off the mark.

PS. Is it me, but when I hit the submit button for the first time, it doesn't take it and need to submit again?

I noticed that BBCode is turned off for signatures. If it was turned on, wouldn't that mean that users could change the font size of their signatures manually, as to make them smaller?

That happens when someone has made a new post during the time you were typing, so that you can add a comment to that post if you want, or perhaps if that new post is an answer to the question you yourself were going to answer. Quite handy really!

I added BBcode back to sigs now - but I have made it so max size is 85% - maybe see how that goes ?

I was after a more global setting but that might do in a pinch for now I am just worried about the Bold and Italics now though ;-)

Hi there,

Why is there a new 'new forum'? Is there something wrong with the old one? Does this new one do anything different?

Wasn’t it called Silver Blades or something? You must have lived quite near the railway line?

Why did we move from Plumstead to Highbury and on to Ashburton Grove :icon_question1:

Why did we change our crest so many times :icon_question1:

Why do we change our shirts so often :icon_question1:

Hopefully, if all goes well, it will crash less, be faster and above all require less effort to manage the technicals of it.

Yes - This forum doesn't support a link at that very location - I could mod it but it may damage something else if I tool with that page template - or it may get overwritten afterwards and stop again.

Unless I shut down the IE window/tab, then restart a new IE window/tab in which case the avatars are back.

I like the Swedish flag actually. It's not as instantly recognisable as our tricolour but Swedan isn't very important in the grand scheme of things anyway.

It does (but entering this message caused them to reappear again. Let's see what happens after an edit)

Yes, I had forgotten about the name of the ice rink. The local swimming baths next door. Both still there. The ice rink is looking rather shabby now it has to be said. There are plans for a redevelopment which will spruce it up a bit. Attached to the ice rink was a night club/disco called the Bali Hai or something like that. The council run swimming pool has survived various closure attempts.

Me and a couple of mates would go swimming every Sunday morning then get a bag of chips and coke afterwards. By the side of the ice rink, there was this small lift like a dumb waiter where goods could be sent up from outside. Anyway, we found that somebody had forgotten to lock it and we kept sending it up and down. Then I had this wheeze of an idea that Kevin was small enough to go inside it. He agrees and I press the button to send him up and that's fine. Then I press the button to bring him back down again. The only trouble was, it got stuck halfway down. Understandably he started to panick. We had to tell the staff we were messing around and our mate was stuck in the lift and he very wasn't happy. Cue the fire brigade! They got him out, a little shaken but no long lasting damage apart from an aversion to very small lifts for the rest of his life.

Yes, our back garden backed on to the railway line from Streatham station. What else, the Cat's Whiskers by Streatham Hill, another favourite with the local's. Timothy Whites, Mac Fisheries, the John Lewis Dept store (Pratts). Odeon and ABC cinema's too.

How dare you.

Without Sweden there would be no Dolph Lundgren. And without Dolph, there would be no Rocky IV. Well, I guess there would be a Rocky IV...but it wouldn't be as cool as it is now.

Good point. We would never have known how bleak Russia was in comparison to the good oul US of A without Rocky IV. And how the Russkies were cheats and allround despicable characters.

It's funny how in American movies, Russian characters are never played by Russian actors... It's always people from countries like Sweden, Germany or some eastern european country.

Recently I saw a movie with a character named "The Swede", and he was played by a (tall, blonde) guy from Czechoslovakia.
