Did a 9 year old tell you he said that or was it a quote by anyone in particular?

Özil wanting the number 10 shirt.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football ... -10-shirt/

Yeah - I'm gonna call BS on that one.

We've seen what the team can do in the FA Cup especially last season with wins against man city and chelsea. Somehow the cup form doesn't translate to consistency in the league competition.

The mindset in cups is different. I think both sides underestimated us last season in the semis and finals a wee bit. We can focus on the day but not for any level of substantial consistency for the marathon that the season is.

If that was the case wouldn't he want the Number 9 shirt .

I find it amazing that everyone seems to have completely forgotten about Man City and their money. Everyone is either so in love with pep, his style of football and the players (of which they don’t seem to have too many easily hated players), or everyone is just resigned to the quite blatant bending of the rules that there is no point arguing.

City have released a latest set of figures which shows their revenue up to something like £450m and show wages now increased to the highest in the league at around £250m. City boast of a very good wages to turnover ratio.

Is everyone forgetting the millions and millions of etihad sponsorship way above any kind of market rate?

None of this excuses anything arsenal do because I saw our revenues were some £100m per season more than Liverpool and nearly £200m per season more than spurs. Our wages are similar to Liverpool but twice spurs. Even allowing for greater overheads, which can be massively outweighed by under investment in players, it is just as amazing that no one is really questioning (and getting answers) for where all Arsenal’s money goes as it is no one questioning City’s dodgy sponsorship.

Sadly football died a long time ago, it’s all a huge business played by a few very rich men.

If we can get £30m for Özil and Sanchez in jan we will have escaped from a terrible situation with at least some positive.

Like you say though, that must be reinvested AND more. We should be in for a couple of players in Jan even if those two stay.

If we’re sticking with wing backs we need more competition there, and central midfield really needs addressing - some dynamism, energy, and discipline is badly needed in there

It's going to league rivals that pisses me off. In the 'old days' (even though to me it seems recent), we were risking losing players to Real Madrid or Barcelona. Ashley Cole was an aberration and it happened after the Galacticos were gone for the most part.

I can sort of see the argument that problem is the idiots who own them ... (but then again, the same applies to nuclear weapons ... )

But what does you friend propose? Gun control is a far less effective solution than somehow wiping out all these dickheads, inbred morons, rednecks, Nazis, and Rambo wannabes.

However, it is more humane.

Many of them evidently believe that they will be able to see off a Russian or Chinese invasion with their hunting rifles and handguns .... or if necessary the Federal government.

As unlikely as it may seem. VP Pence is scarier than Trump. Trump is a blowhard. Pence is both a religious zealot and a true believer in the conservatism. The Nitro and Glycerin of American politics. We may be worse off with impeachment. Not that I'm against the notion of impeachment if it comes to that.

What do we make of the story that Steve Rowley is rumoured to be leaving is role as Chief Scout for us?

When Gazidis talked of a summer with a catalyst for change maybe he meant it but just not in the baordroom or with the manager or his primary coaching team. There do seem to have been some back room shake ups - sadly I think it is just a small percentage towards what we really need - a change of owner and manager

Hey Hodd, if you are out there, any thoughts on this rumor?

I have no idea who wrote this - on the forum in about 2006 - but I found it while I was scrolling through some old files on my computer:

Spurs! They need somebody,
Spurs! Not just anybody,
Spurs! You know they need someone, Spurs
When they were useless, every year since '61,
They realised deep down their trophy days were done,
And now that Bill Nick's gone, they're not so self-assured,
Now they find they're in a Double-bind and their diarrhoea can't be cured
Help them if you can, they're going down,
And Andy Reid's increasingly round,
Help them be Inter-Toto bound,
Won't you please, please help Spurs?

Excellent.

According to the Daily Mail AW is planning a swap for Sanchez with PSG giving us Draxler.

Personally I'd be happy with that rather than nothing.

It depends on Draxler more than on AW. I hope he comes over.

Don't care about the England team but they will be stronger with Wilshere, Welbeck and even Walcott in the squad. All three might still feature for England in the World Cup.

Must be putting hallucinagenics in the Singaporean water supply to think that Goonie

... Walcott is f**** useless for us , Welbeck instead of Kane , Vardy or Rashford not likely , Jack cant make our squad and hardly set the world alight at Bournemouth .

All people with northern European ancestry have some neanderthal dna. Thinking of Arsenal players I'd say Keown and Storey probably more than most :icon_mrgreen:

He’s a young player with promise. But to get a bit of perspective the goals were against the Faroe Islands Under 19s.
