3 dangerous in swinging corners from us in a row, get one on the other side and we have Vieira taking an outswinger which is nowhere near as dangerous. Martinelli usually swings them in from that side

This ref is awful. Oxford player with a swinging arm wrapping his hand around Gabriel’s throat. Clear yellow if I’ve ever seen it - not given

I reckon that Dele Alli would be an improvement on what we’ve been watching.

And as I type that we score. :22encouragement:

Finally. Good ball in Vieira, and the arch predator Elneny with the header.

2nd assist for Vieira. Oxford gave it away in a dangerous area, Xhaka with the interception, in to Vieira, loads of time on the ball, simple run in behind and Nketiah goes round the gk and finishes in to the empty net.

Next thought must be to try to get the front 3 subbed off asap

Great to see Emile Smith Rowe back, although shame that it’s taken a Saka injury to lead to that.

Would have been very tight on the offside if var was in use

We’ve dealt with their set pieces and crosses very well, they were always going to try to dominate us physically and in the air. Gabriel in particular has stood up to everything they’ve thrown at him

Would it be fair to say that purely on a technical level Zinchenko might be the best full back we’ve had in recent memory?

And add to that his excellent decision making. Always looking to play the right ball.

It might be more appropriate to compare him to Cazorla.

10 substitutions and 3 goals in the second half…..2 minutes added time! Utterly ridiculous

Some of those subs happened at the same time but even if you add a conservative amount of time it should have been 6 minutes.

“FA cup rulez”

Reds are yellows, yellows are fouls, and fouls are play on. It’s all vibes as the kids might say.

I don’t really know what they’d say.

Interesting player. When he’s in the side we move the ball quicker because he likes one touch football and it rubs off on the other lads.

Comfortable in the end. A 4th round tie at Man City up next, with a full weeks break before and after that game, whilst City are likely to have a 2 legged league cup semi either side

Much better second half. A few moments of quality sealed it.

Vieira remains a little lightweight but has undoubted technical ability and vision.

Bit worrying that we have to keep starting Saka, Nketiah and Martinelli because basically we have no other options who are ready or fit enough to start.

Eddie's movement and finishing can be sublime at times, a shame he doesn't have just a bit more physical presence.

Our central midfield back-up options are mediocre at best and clearly an injury to Partey, Ødegaard or Xhaka would be a huge blow.

Is it me or does Tomiyasu look a shadow of the player he was when he first arrived. Injuries have really hit him hard.

He is what he is, which is essentially a central midfielder/no 10 playing at fullback. Very technically gifted and comfortable in possession with a great range of passing.

Not the world's greatest defender though.

I thought he looked class v bodo at right back but recently he doesn’t seem to be getting in a rhythm. He was at fault for the first Brighton goal and he just looks a bit more lethargic. He probably needs a run of games. Worth remembering how good he was when he marked salah out the game v Liverpool

Being reported we are close to signing Mudryk for 88 million. 20 percent of it being bonuses

How can Elneny do that to us? We have always been very fair with him and now he repays us like a traitor. What on earth was he doing heading us into the lead and then managing midfield so well in the second half that we end up disastrously winning the game and are forced to face City. Scandalous. Vieira wasn't far behind in his treachery and no words can express the evil actions of Nketiah. I haven't been this angry since we unfairly beat United in the FA Cup final all those years ago.

Stock up on the blood pressure tablets. I remain of the view we should not have risked Saka and Martinelli. They should have been rested.

One wonders why Marquinos wasn't given a start. Oxford are middle of the 3rd division, and looked it too.

I'm a big fan of MA, but what is the plan? If we keep playing Saka and Martinelli it feels like a matter of time before one or both gets knackered (Saka in particular gets kicked around a lot), and the fringe players are getting no experience.

If Arteta doesn't rate the fringe players enough to play them against Oxford, and we can't get our long term targets, we need to consider what stopgap measures are possible.

If there is no choice and the football gods said you have to win one and lose one against City in the PL and FA Cup, I'd win the league game and lose the FA cup tie. As for the FA cup, no replays if there are at that level, I have no idea. I just want a resolution on the day if there is a replay. If there isn't and its PKs then so be it.

The rest of this month is going to show our mettle.

I was thinking the same. When he has played he has looked more than capable of troubling a defense like Oxford's.

Little bit unclear that ? So they can’t own the club outright but only be a Minor investor as they own PSG

Whatever it is sounds a mess and bad
