Your memory seems clouded. We scored a last minute goal against Manure at home and they had chances to win that game. We hun g on for dear life at Anfield and the Newcastle game could have been easily 5-5.

Total nonsense. I was at the Man U game and ended 2 rows down when our winner went in. Why ? Because we had them on them on ropes for 20 minutes and even Neville and Keane admitted it. They were totally penned in. It was an impressive performance. Nketiah missed a sitter and saka hit a post. Should have been more it wasn’t a fluke.

Anfield we blew it in the second half and still drew and Newcastle away well we were the better team and nobody would dispute that plus at home we totally dominated and they wasted time like I’ve never seen before so much so I think we did likewise away deliberately

We were comfortably the 2nd best side in the league this year but if people want to be miserable and let the few harder moments cloud an excellent season then they are utter dinlows. Pointing at 20 or 30 minute passages during games when we weren’t in control. Honestly give me a break

Yes, I think we had 25 shots to six that day. A deserved victory.

So it’s Luton then. Should be interesting. I was last there in the early ‘90s and it was comfortably the shittest ground I’ve ever attended, and I’ve been to some dumps.

I have a couple of acquaintances who follow The Hatters and they tell me nothing much has changed at the ground since they were last in the top flight.

Good effort on their part though. No rich owners and no major backers. Don’t know much about them but they must be a well-coached team. Similar story for Cov. Respect to both clubs.

I’ve got a mate who’s a hatter and he and their fans are just as mad as they were in the 80s and 90s :laughing7:

Not much has changed as it’s going to be a lot of fun to have them in the premier league next year

Note to DHD

You seen that they are scrapping season ticket cards entirely from next season. Will be all digital

I only realised that yesterday. I misread the email from the club and thought they were scrapping season tickets for today as a trial run. It will make ticket touting much harder but will also make passing on tickets to family/friends at the last minute ( 3hrs or less from kick off) won’t be possible.

I don’t really know what to make of it. I don’t really use the digital pass just the card. The digital pass on my iPhone is expired actually and when I log onto the app it won’t let me download a new one as it says digital pass not found. Not really a problem for today but next season won’t run without problems I reckon

And yet Xhaka, who is also supposedly off, also starts.

I wonder if it means he sees Partey as an inverted fullback with new signing earmarked for the CM role?

If it's Xhaka's last game for us then a hat trick followed by a red card would make for a legendary exit.

All in all, a fabulous, marvelous season. So many positives, so many highlights, so many pleasures, such hope.

But…….. 5 points.

Where do we go from here? Does the team learn and improve? Is it a missed opportunity that won’t come along for another few years? Will we attract the players we need to close that gap on the money?

That’s football. And it’s the hope that kills.

UTA.

It’s going to be difficult to replicate that points haul but it’s not impossible. My hope would be that we build the squad depth out so we can genuinely compete in 4 competitions next year. Our transfer business this summer will be fascinating

The depressing truth is it’s probably not about about where we go from here but what city do. They just look unstoppable right now and if they strengthen further god knows what happens everyone could be playing for 2nd

I expect to see quite a few of that Leicester team leave this summer. Maddison seems a certainty. Tielemans is available on a free. The best of the lot may be Harvey Barnes, I think a decent prem club, or spurs, will snap him up

I was there , Luton’s second goal ,don’t think it was a foul, Gus Caesar trod on the ball , it’s funny ( or not in our case ) how the league cup final defeats are peppered with catastrophic errors at the back , Wilson / Ure against Swindon in 1969 and also koschelny / Szechny against Brum in 2011. At least Gus’s was a solo effort . I actually think that 20 mins when we battered them from Hayes goal to the pen miss , was the the blue print , for how we played in the following season

Interesting also , how the Arsenal fans in the background are still in the ground , nowadays by the time the trophy is presented one end is usually empty

Pete it must have been painful for the very fact that we must have been fairly heavy favorites. We beat Liverpool in the league cup but lose to Luton. We beat Man Utd but lose to Ipswich and West Ham.

True about setting us up. I don't think we would have went unbeaten in 2004 if we had won the game against Bolton (where the referee let fat Sam kick us off the park) and the title in 2003. I think we would have won the title in '04 but not unbeaten.

I watched a programme last night where Ed Stafford went to spend a few days on the Northumberland Park housing estate, which is quite literally on the doorstep of Tottenham's billion pound stadium.

It was a real eye-opener, the crime and drugs, the rising damp and mould infested flats and people having to use the food banks just to survive amid rising energy and fuel prices. All in the shadow of one of the most luxurious and expensive stadiums in the world.

Haringey Council admitting they have a 12,000 waiting list for accomodation and that it takes about 12 years to reach the top of the list!
