That shot is why vieira isn’t getting minutes. Daft decision. Great opening

Lokonga just ball watching in his own box. An absolute joke

Saka should have tracked Ake instead of following Grealish

Ramsdale would have saved that, but Haaland would have pounced on that. I didn't expect us to win this once I saw the 2nd half line up. It was going to be mainly one way traffic. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a cricket score and hurt us mentally. If we can pull one back and show some dominance, that would be great. We are bringing in the guns so lets see what happens.

Actually I didn’t. I had felt that we were bossing it and more likely to score than them.

If we can get more shots on goal like or near shots like Eddie did and show them we can put you under pressure , that will be good.

Nicely placed by Ake but did anyone else see Haaland pulling Gaby back?

If parteys injured himself in this game we are screwed totally.

That said I don’t think we have been that bad.

Defensively way out of his depth. We are the poorer for Partey going off.

Turner is doing decent given how big this game is. Hope I didn't jinx him.

We are pressing them and scaring them in their own box. That in of itself is a statement.

That’s that I think. It’s not bad really and despite playing several reserves I think we did ok. It’s certainly no psychological defeat despite what the media will probably say over the next few days.

I have to think the players will leave there saying to themselves, 'We can come here and get a result or a win'. My hope is they will have same mindset as the Man Utd game, revenge.

Better team lost. Lots to be taken from that game.

Not a bad result, all things considered.

More than happy to get the additional fixture congestion out of the way with a very good performance and no psychological damage. They will not feel confident coming to our place against a first string line up.

Yes we can. A first 11 that starts with a high tempo can take them. The gap that was there a few years back is gone. Haaland did nothing this evening.

Not happy to lose but there was nothing in that game that made me scared of City. The game was pretty 50/50, thought we maybe had some of the better chances but in truth it was a game of limited chances and was always going to be decided by the first goal.

No chance that result has any significance or psychological effect in the league.

We made 6 changes and took off Partey and Saka and Coty played their first choice apart from the gk.

Can’t wait to play them at the emirates and go full throttle at them

The press will make more out of the loss than it is probably because they have to sell papers and get views on websites, but I wasn't overawed. At full strength I am not undaunted by going there in league play.

I am also guessing that the players are seeing this more of a missed opportunity than they got outplayed. This also shows we need to get a decent bench past the first 11 or 12 players. We are getting there. A few positions we have sufficient back up for. But its clear more needs to be done in that department.

Can’t think of many Coty attackers who got the better of us.

Disappointing result.

Thought we played OK considering the starting 11s.

They did very well to keep Saka out of the game.

Trossard looked really good, just didn't get the ball in the 2nd half.

Lokonga is fairly decent with the ball but clearly not good enough without the ball......ballwatching, failure to track runners, positioning etc.

Saliba's passing through the lines and general composure makes a big difference compared to Holding, who frankly is a bit of an idiot. How did he think he was going to get away with all the holding and grappling?. He got sent off againt Tottenham and we had to take him off for the team's sake tonight as another yellow was almost a certainty.

Vieira has really good technical skills but he's just far too lightweight, he needs to evolve his game to cope with the speed and tenacity of the PL like David Silva did and Bernando Silva has.

Bit disappointed with Eddie tonight. Didn't really cause City's defence enough of a problem, whereas Haaland was a menace all game.

How do you think we'll do in league play at full strength at City? As well as at home?

I noticed something or at least it seems like it. They were shadowing Ødegaard a little. My guess is that in the league play, they will man mark Ødegaard and double up on Saka.

If they do this, I am hoping we will see that there will be holes elsewhere to exploit and take advantage of it.

Caicedo has asked Brighton to let him leave on his social media. Not a move I’d advise but let’s see what happens.

If Ødegaard drifts right and they man mark him and double man Saka that takes out 3 of their players - it’s doubtful whether City’s left winger (Grealish) is the man to come back and double mark Saka, so that’s two of City’s central midfield being pulled over to the right side to contain two of our players. Quick switch to the Zinchenko, Xhaka, Martinelli triangle and we’ll outnumber them.

It's stupid. It's disrespectful and if anything it will make Brighton dig in even more.

Stones picked up a muscle injury as well. Good news to keep some more injuries coming for City, more games will do that.

Fascinated to see what happens when Europe starts up again.

In round 28 of prem fixtures we’re guaranteed a game v Palace as they are out of the cup also. Any prem teams in fa cup QF action (or teams due to play a team in the QF) will need to rearrange their league game

Similarly in round 32 of prem fixtures we’ll get our game going ahead as long as Southampton don’t make the FA cup semis.

The ideal fixture list puts you against teams likely to be out of the cup on cup clash weekends so you lessen the chance of fixture backlog due to postponements if you’re knocked out of the cup.

Lokonga seems to be the odd one out in the squad right now. Ødegaard was visibly frustrated with his positing at the end, he went straight down the tunnel as well.

Feels like he desperately needs a loan and change of scene.
