No surprises 15 minutes in, we all knew Arsenal was going to dominate possession and be on the front foot. But we also know Tottenham don't need to create a lot of chances to score.

The only attacking player Tottenham have is Bryan Gil, who is yet to play for them this season. If our defense can keep their attacking trio under control we'll have a good chance here. We know what their gameplan will be, they'll be happy to sit back and let us have possession, and then try to hit us on the break. Hopefully we learned a lesson against Man Utd.

It’s odd that spurs have huge depth in both defence and defensive mids but in those attacking positions they really don’t have much. Only Kulesevski missing for them today.

That's the Partey that plays for Ghana. He is more attacking from midfield when playing for them when the opportunity permits.

That Ramsdale save from Richarlison seemed like it was offside anyway. Would have been called back if it did go in

A second before the half wouldn't be bad.

Not much to complain about there, Gabriel didn't touch the ball. So unnecessary to put ourselves in that position

Shot ourselves in the foot there. Sigh.

So sloppy.

Shot ourselves in the foot again!

Definite penalty. Always a bloody penalty for Spurs. It’s crazy how many penalties they get against us, feels like it’s every single game.

1-1

Too casual in defence and tackles not being made.

Didn't like our defending for that entire counter attack. Gave Son too much room, to casual when we should've just cleared the ball. It's not just Gabriel in the wrong there.

Utterly dominated them. 64% possession 6 shots to their 2.

Spurs continuing to play poorly but someone getting things from games.

The reason we lead was all us, the reason we’re level is all us

Some of the arsing around at the back is unnecessary.

They are looking dangerous every time they come forward.

I do find it so frustrating how many n so many games we dominate the ball but rarely get any free kicks but yet the slightest touch and we’re penalised. Only 4 free kicks given to us in that half having dominated so much of the ball

Not a lot of surprises in that first half. Arsenal dominate possession, are getting more shots, but it's equal in shots on goals and goals. Need to be a bit more switched when defending in the box, and need to convert more of our chances.

Great game but for all our domination Tottenham look like they could score everytime they break.

We have to get more numbers back into the defensive shape because only Tottenham's poor final pass stopped them being in on goal on several occasions.

They are but pundits need to spare us from the ‘Conte masterclass’ I’ve only ever understood that narrative of you sit deep and your opponents just have sterile possession, no chances and no danger. When you sit deep and rely on counters but also rely on a touch of luck, your gk making top saves and your opponents not finishing their chances that isn’t a masterclass.

I’m not saying that’s exactly what is happening here but that narrative is written too often for teams who sit deep and play on the counter. You usually see it when a small team upsets a big side but the game is so 1 sided and lucky it can’t ever be a managerial masterclass

And for all their danger on the break it’s a huge Arsenal mistake that they’ve needed.
Yes we have to be aware of their threat but we have to keep dominating the game and pushing for the winner

It's only one sided if you turn the domination into goals.

When Son gets the ball we need someone to be tight on him so he can't go forward with the ball or get a release pass to Kane or a full back.

When Spurs move forward there seems to be a lot of space and we are always chasing back at them. The momentum changed after our goal and we need to deal with their moves forward. They Always have one unmarked wide when they get to our box. Given our early possession I don’t think we made enough chances.

I don't think you can afford to play a high line 3 v 3 against Tottenham because they will always create chances in that scenario.

Maybe bring Tierney on for Zinny to give us a bit more defensive nous on the left side and drop Xhaka a little deeper to try and stop those fast counters.

A beauty of a goal from Partey :53big-emoticons:

Mental cracks appeared after they equalised. Arteta has to steel them up again.
