This is quite a special piece of journalism from a Spurs writer for Football London.

It is strange, I love the guy but he will never have a bad thing to say about Man U players or managers. He supported Ole to the end and still thinks he did a good job.

He's one of those Man U fans who always believe they're just one defensive midfielder away from being the best side in europe. Thinks all the individuals are world class so it just needs someone to come in and knit them together - they've tried that with 4 different managers with varying experience and styles - perhaps it is now time to reassess that the players aren't as good as people think.

If I went through Man U's entire squad and was looking for players to strengthen our first 11 you'd make a case for Ronaldo obviously, but not exactly a long term buy. I like Greenwood, think he's an exceptional talent but wouldn't put him ahead of Saka. Bruno Fernandes is very good on his day.....but really I cant think of many players I would swap.

Being said we are trying to sign a keeper from the MLS as Leno is going to be sold too Newcastle on a loan with obligation

We all have our blind spots. I've obviously got a few.

That was such a pile of nonsense I stopped reading it. The article, not your post!

One for the American fans - we've apparently bid for this GK

I like Leno but Ramsdale is No.1 now and if Leno is sold to raise money then so be it - if we can be one of the teams who take advantage of Newcastle throwing ridiculous money around even better. Ask them for £30m. I cant imagine Leno wants to go there though

Varane, Fernandes, Ronaldo (or Rashford). McTominay over Xhaka for me. Shaw v Tierney is close. Tierney is more consistent but Shaw is more talented. They finished 2nd in the league last season with Solskjaer as manager.

Back to a full strength 11 tonight minus Xhaka and Partey but Partey makes the bench!
Looks like Ødegaard alongside Lokonga in midfield. Plenty of youngsters on the bench

Looking forward to it.

Signing Leno would be a very smart piece of business by Newcastle.

He's not at the level of some of the elite keepers like Allison and Ederson but he's in the pack just below.

His razor sharp reactions and stunning reflexes could be the difference maker in a relegation dogfight and if they stay up would be one of the important building blocks in developing a team to start competing at the top end of the table.

Lokonga on his own in midfield, don’t like the look of that but there’s a decent amount of strength in that side

If partey comes off the bench that’s pretty mental.

Kieran Tierney being interviewed on sky. There’s your captain

Smart, considered and intelligent. Hopefully they do the right thing in the summer

With the injuries we have, I like the look of that team. This will not be easy, but let's give it a real go.

Ah. That wasn’t in the plan.

Complete miskick.

Tomiyasu doesn’t cover himself in glory but that was the very definition of a scruffy goal.

Just like that against the run of play. No one should ever say we are lucky.

Long way to go Arsenal- no need to panic just keep trying to get forward.

Poor defending but also a bit of luck about the goal. Tomiyasu slips as he tries to recover then the shot is scuffed and trickles in the only place it could and not where Jota meant to put it

Jota is the epitome of a player who makes his own luck.

Just a nuisance. Wish we had a goal threat like that

Don’t get drawn into this self-sympathising excuse culture Haz. Xhaka is banned and Partey is fresh back and on the bench - and fair play to him for turning up. Kanu went missing for weeks.

This is the best team we can play from the squad we have. No injuries and no Covid.

See Lacazette miles behind the play doing the false 9 stuff on the halfway line. Just desperate for a new striker

Feel like loads of players get away without that being a yellow. Did feel like the ref couldn’t wait to get his card out there

Don’t think mf is working. Structure looks wrong. Emile Smith Rowe seems peripheral and I think he’s better than that.

Whenever we play this single midfield player pivot it never works. Normally it’s partey on his own.

Only problem is how mad are you going to be to bring on partey and when do you change it
